I bought a new room and I want to make it a game. I don't want it to be something expensive and hard, like a teleporter maze. I was thinking about another modeling game, like cute or boot, but there are so many of those. I had an idea for a "worst dressed" contest, where the ugliest outfits wins! What do you guys think? Would you play?

I think my son would like that one.:) One he could win!;)

That game's been done in various forms also. :)

Go ahead though, I'm not saying don't do it! I'm just saying, it's been done. :) :cool1:

Wasn't it jellyroll who said that "ugly is the new beautiful"? Go for it, sounds fun!

LOL yes she would really love that game

Cool, thanks for the feedback. I'll post it on my sig when it's done :)

Well, I tried my game today and it was a flop. First of all, I didn't know how to get ppl to come to it. So I just walked around the park and announced it to people, and the interested ones joined my friend list so I could call thm in the room when I had enough people. It started out with like 2 people in the room, we waited until there was at least five, then tried to play. But then more and more people started coming in. I had in the room description very clearly stating: "this is a worst dressed game. ugliest outfit wins." Girls were mad that they didn't win b/c they thought it was cute or boot, and they didn't bother to read the room information. Then people that I said didn't get in to the next round wouldn't move out of the line. Meanwhile other people are coming in trying to enter the game after I said "that's enough people" and the judging had started. They were all pissy b/c I shut the turnstile. I have a teleporter in there to go to my other room, and it was roped off. People kept asking to go in there. No one listened to my instructions, and the first winner got a choice of several pins, some clothes, and some posters to choose 2 of. She wanted them all. Or a magic pin. Even if you get a prize you don't like, it's free, just for fun, and you should say "thank you".

I also had in the room description (and announced to everyone) than winners had to pose for a picture for the wall of fame, by facing front. They couldn't handle that concept, so I have 2 pictures of winners' backs on the wall. People who didn't win would whine and ask why they didn't, or try to change outfits and get back in line. It was so confusing, frustrating, and just a huge disaster. If people would just read a game room's description and follow the rules instead of wandering in halfway thru the game and try to play without knowing what they are doing, I may continue this game. Also, how difficult is it to line up facing front? People are standing all over the place and wondering why they weren't judged.

Sorry to rant, but I give props to people who do the cute or boot games all the time and don't go crazy. It's supposed to be for fun, and a fun way to get free stuff, even if it's not GREAT stuff. Then while I'm trying to trade to give the winner their prize, everyone waiting to play again is complaining about it taking too long and the game is lame. It WAS taking too long b/c the winner was being picky and wanting everything I had. Only ONE person was nice enough to be patient and follow directions (Guest906741...who is new and I invited her to this board!), and not be picky about her prize. I had to end up booting everyone out except the winner and I hated it b/c it makes me seem like a jerk. If anyone has their own cute or boot game that works well, please give me some advice on how to make it better and maintain crowd control :)

All in all it was funny that I thought I couldn't get people in there, and suddenly it became the most popular room and got out of control. :grouphug:

If anyone wants to play and play fair, let me know. Come to the room and say you are a "dis" and tell me you know how it works. The concept is this:

RULES: stay in the queue (before the turnstile) and change into an ugly outfit (judging on clothes only, not hair or skin color) until I let you in. then line up against the back wall and wait until i say we are starting. Then I walk down the line and say "yes" or "no" in front of each person. If I say no, please go to queue or leave room. You can change and try again if you lose. If yes, you stay put for next round. If you win, come to me for prize and don't complain about the prize! Then let me take your picture (stand facing front in an area with no people near you to get in the way). If you win once, you can't compete again the same day. The room is called "Miakoda's Bottom Model".
Anyway, I may just change it to good looking model contest since some people don't get it.

P.S. to keep people from waiting, should I do something like tell the winner I will find them later to give them a prize and take photo, so the next lineup won't get restless? They may not trust me, although I would not go back on my promise to award something. How often should I have the games? I'm so new at all this. Thanks for any advice. Maybe this game should be for just DIS people! If enough of you want to play, maybe I'll do that since you all now know how to play

Ok, due to popular demand my contest is now for best looking. I guess being different is not well recieved. Everyone wants to be pretty! So, come join the game if you want!
