What do you think of MJ's father?

I don't understand why kathrine jackson was awarded custody. By MJ, Janet, & Latoya's personal accounts alone, they EACh stated they were abused by their father. Michael the worst, because of who he was, and being the family's gravy train. Everyone knows Michael is screwed up largely due to Joe Jackson. I do NOT believe Michael would have wanted him to rais his kids. :(

Even Debbie Rowe would be better. So, she loves horses. Once the money comes in, she can hire the nanny to take care of the kids. At least the kids will be normal this way. They are probably already kind of screwed up not being allowed out and to socialize. And whenever they did go out, they had to wear masks & veils. :rolleyes: Yes, Michael, teach them to fear the public. :sad2:

It will be extremely sad if they get the kids. Papa Joe only wants them for the claim on Micheal's estate. Once the debts are paid, he stands to make millions, and millions. I hope MJ set things up, so that the money is saved for the kids once they are adults. Poor babies will be screwed if whoever gets them has control over all the money too.:sad2:

ET said there may have been a will and that (possibly) a good portion of his song catalogue has been willed to the kids. If so, the money would be held in trust for the kids, till they get older. :thumbsup2

I've said it before and I'll say it again. MJ did not have a snowball's chance in hell of turning out remotely normal with that father of his. Take a physically, verbally and emotionally abusive father, combine with that with a small child having the responsibility for the financial success or failure of the ENTIRE FAMILY for years and years, throw in a massive dose of worldwide fame that made it impossible for said child to ever go out in public and do anything a normal person would do....mix with average people, go to the movies, a grocery store, the mall, ANYTHING without drawing a tidal wave of a crowd from before he even hit puberty and there is zero chance a kid will turn out normal. Pressure like that, with no relief for years of any kind cannot help but have a devastating effect. MJ was doomed to suffer the consequences.

His father was the key to making all the difference in the world. Less pressure, less abuse, making him less of the focus, maybe even withdrawing some from show business.....Heck, just letting him be a kid for a while would have been a lifesaver. I think Joe Jackson is the scum of the earth.

I was just reading that Katherine and Joe separated in the 80's. Joe lives in Las Vegas and Katherine in the San Fernando Valley (CA) where the kiddos are right now playing with their cousins. Michael kept them inside, very sheltered and they were homeschooled. The article stated the kids are happy to be outside and playing with other children.

I thought Janet did the right thing coming to the BET's to say thanks to everyone for all their prayers. She came on the show at the last minute. I do not believe she was there all night like Joe. She came in, said what she wanted to and exited....unlike dear ole dad sitting there all night with Rev Al.

Ohhh and if anyone comes across that 2003 interview with MJ and Martin Bashir....WOW.

DH and I watched it when it first aired....when it wasn't blurred and edited so extensively. Here is how we reacted: :scared: :eek:

If I had any doubts that Joe Jackson was the spawn of the devil, his association with that pondscum Sharpton would confirm it.

I agree that JJ really seems to be basking in this...

about Michael's kids wearing masks in public... he was known everywhere by the time he was 10 years old (or younger)... would anyone here have been able to identify them if they saw a pic, before this week? They could go anywhere, as long as it was without Michael, without being persued by the media, etc. Genius move by MJ, I think.

Katherine Jackson is asking the court for sole custody. Doesn't mean she will get it.

I can see Debbie Rowe wanted her children. Her rights were reinstated, so there is a good chance she could get the two older ones. Even Blanket's mom could come forward. If MJ didn't have a will, he might not have made formal arrangements with this mother.

Ultimately the estate will go to his children, but wouldn't it be ironic if (while the children are minors) that it would be controlled by Rowe and the mystery mom.

Highly possible.

Everyone grieves in different ways, but I think this is an exception.

I think Joe Jackson is an overbearing stage father who couldn't wait to hitch his wagon to his children's successes.

He's just done it again with Michael's death. I hated watching him on the red carpet from last night.
::yes::

I think that much of Michael's problems rest at his feet.

::yes::
Many of Michael's issues were definitely caused by his father, mainly his nose issue. Michael was a troubled soul, and it was largely due to his fathers abuse as a child. May his soul rest in peace.
It a dumb thing not to have a will.

I agree. When I got cancer, I was freaking out about a will and all these papers I had to sign about "advanced directives". I was 14. I was freaking out about who I would give my iPod to and who would fit into my clothes. ;)

I saw the JJ BET interview and it was just so bizarre. I was wondering if he was drunk or something. I mean, the first thing out of his mouth, when the reporter asked how he was doing was, "great". That's not what a normal person after losing a child would say. And then he's promoting his record label? And saying that we lost a superstar, and not that he lost his son? Very very strange.

He's not grieving, that's for sure. He sees his son's death as an opportunity to get attention and make money. I believe he sees dollar signs when he looks at the children, too.

Joseph and Michael Jackson were estranged and there was bad blood between them. I guess we can assume Joe had written MJ off in his life and felt no remorse about the death, judging by his lack of sadness. The man's been in his glory, happy and upbeat in his speech, on every interview.

Joseph and Janet Jackson should not have attended the BET awards. MJ had just died and was being autopsied. The kids were devastated and without their constant companions. They should have sent a written statement to be read, or offered a video conference.

Not sure why Janet agreed, if she's so distraught over her brother's sudden death.

I think Janet should be awarded custody. She seems fairly normal and certainly wouldn't be in it for the money.

I agree because of several points

A. Janet has her own money, so its almost like she wouldn't be in it for that reason.
B. personally I think that Rowe woman is unbelievable because I don't think she was ever really a part of the children's lives and that stunt she pulled by stating that Micheal wasn't really the kids' dad was horrible. The kids, no matter who they are related to, lost their father and this didn't need to be thrown out there. It seems that Rowe is so desperate to have the kids now when it seemed that she didn't really care before.
C. Janet will most likely keep the nanny.

I can understand why Janet went to the BET thing, it wasn't like she was partying, but rather thanking those who remembered her brother. It is her way to grieve and that should be understood. She didn't try to pimp out some CD or company, she went there and thanked the fans. It appears that she was close to her brother.

Although I agree that MJ's father wasn't a great dad, he did some things right. He turned his son into a superstar. If it wasn't for his push, MJ "might" have lived unknown. Maybe in the end that might have been better for him, but his dad recognized his talent and paved the way for Michael and his brothers to become famous. Of course, he did it for his own monetary advancement but still. MJ and Janet didn't exactly walk away from the limelight once they turned adults. On top of that, you can't blame the dad entirely for how messed up MJ was. Alot of people grow up with really bad parents and live okay lives as adults. He could have gotten himself the best therapists in the US with his money. Michael was one strange customer. He had some major mental issues. He was possibly a pedophile, he definitely had anorexia, and he was a drug addict. Can you imagine how screwed up his own children are with him as their father?

I've always found him to be a creepy disgusting creature. As said there is no wonder if that family is odd in any way. For the life of me I can not figure out why his wife didn't kick him to the curb a long long time ago. :confused3
