Just wanted to run a scenario by some of my Disney minded friends.
My mil called today to say she wasn't going to make it to x-mas dinner (partly because she just moved and partly because she hadn't shopped for the kids *due to the move). I told her absolutley to come, the kids didn't need anything. Somewhere in teh conversation I mentioned a trip to DIsney would be nice, at which point she asked the cost of our average trip. I politely told her "expensive".
Well she goes come over with small gifts she picked up at a local pharmacy. While I prepared her plate she again asked me for the cost of a Disney trip. I went into my whole sell about value v. off-site v. mod, etc. But she persisted and I gave her a price (which was the cost of our last vacation). That was it.
She called me about 10 minutes after she left and asked "If I were to write a check to you and dh which name should I use (I hypenate my last name). I told her she absolutely was not writing us a check, but gave her the requested information.
I'm pretty sure that she is going to at least contribute a hefty amount to our next, unplanned, vacation. I told dh and he disagrees.
now, a little background. Dh had not spoken to his mother in over 8 years. We just reconnected at her mom's funeral in February. Then just very sporadic phone contact, nothing for Easter. She started making appearances to our house in October of this year and we've had a good relationship. DH has 3 sisters, all of which have issues, drugs, child custody, etc. So, as dysfunctional-but who isn'tas we might be we are "the best of hte bunch"
So, my question is, are we going to DIsney?
