Rant threads can be interesting, a much better read than a hemorrhoid or brag thread....



....I'm not suggesting people shouldn't post about hemorrhoids, I just choose not to read it.

LOL. He/she/it/ "they" are my favorite pet peeve on this board.

I usually read MIL and kid rants. I posted a rant a couple of weeks back and got insight to a problem I was having. I wasn't flame either. Yay! Sometimes you can't rant in R/L and it is nice to rant here. I think a rant also gives a forum for others to post about similar problems in their life.

Depends on the rant, most of the time. I have no problem with people posting rants, and I know how theraputic they can be. I think it's excellent that there's a place here that we can come and rant when needed.

I read rant threads. I don't write rant threads ever since way back when a few posters didn't belive what I was posting.

Real life is much more interesting than any movie/show could ever be!

I like it when people put the word "rant" in their thread title. It's kind of like my self-made tag says- Free entertainment is everywhere. You don't have to pay for this stuff!

Seriously, I usually will open the rant threads, but if I find out by reading more of the post that I'm not really interested in what the person is ranting about then I don't read any further.

And, I totally agree that most people post a rant because they want to yell, scream and get the frustration out. They generally are NOT looking for opinions or snide remarks.

I like ranting and I like reading rants.

I don't mind so much when someone tries to get me to see a different side of things when I'm ranting, but it gets really annoying when it turns into a flame-fest. I feel like I'm a reasonable person and I can see other sides of the coin, but not when you're beating me over the head with it.
