It is just me and my husband. This will be our third time together at WDW. See signature. Both times before we have been on the DDP and like it so we will be again. We've never eaten at any signature restaurants and don't plan to until one day we can afford to get the Deluxe DDP. Here is a list of everywhere we've already been if I can remember them all. All are dinner or lunch unless noted: Ohana, Crystal Palace, Chef Mickey's, The Wave, Boma, Kona (breakfast), Biergarten, Garden Grill, Whispering Canyon Cafe, 1900 Park Faire, Tusker House, Rainforest Cafe, Planet Hollywood and 50's Prime Time Cafe. I think that's all. So here is my tenative schedule for next trip.

Saturday - Arrive, no parks - Raglan Rd
Sunday - MK - LTT
Monday - Epcot- Biergarten (DH insists we eat here every trip)
Tuesday - DHS - Mama Melrose
Wednesday - AK - Yak and Yeti
Thursday - MK - Grand Floridian Cafe
Friday - Epcot - lunch Le Cellier (if can't get it then dinner at Lef Chefs, Cape May Cafe, or Marrakesh)
Saturday - home

So since I'm not doing a PTR all questions and comments are appreciated. TIA :wizard:

Will you have free dining? If not, you may check menu prices and see if DDP is saving you $'s for your selections.

Le Celliar, Marrakesh, Les Chefs are all good choices for DDP.

Most buffets such as Beirgarten to me are not good value for DDP if not on FD. We do however enjoy Boma as a must do and Beirgarten is a fun place to dine.

TS's which we enjoy and feel are good DDP values are Coral Reef, San Angel, Kona, Ohana and Le Celliar. Les Chefs was excellent our 1st visit, horrible service our 2nd along with cold food.

Reading forums over the years makes it clear. Everyone has their own likes and dislikes. Every restaurant has those that love it and those that hate it. Read the menus and reviews on allears.net for a good idea of what you may enjoy.

I forgot to say that we're going to get on free dining as long as Disney offers it for next September.

Also Coral Reef is our other back up if we can't get into Le Cellier for lunch.

We've been to Y&Y, GF Cafe, LeCel, Chefs, & Cape May and have enjoyed them all. Personally I'd go to Tutto vs Mama Melrose, but I haven't tried Mama Melrose, so can't compare. We are trying Via Napoli next trip.
Don't get the Apple Crepe dessert at Chefs- worst dessert ever. The Creme Brulee is much better.

I actually was going to try the crepe for dessert at Les Chefs. What was bad about it? If it's anything like the crepes they serve at the kiosk its got to be bad. The crepes at the kiosk aren't fresh, they are pre-made which makes them hard. I thought the one at the restaurant would be made fresh. :confused3

-I'm sorry, I missed where you are staying?? On or off prop?

The first morning of our trip we love doing a charachter bkfst then going into MK. Not sure if this interests you. Our fave is 1900 PF...but of course Chef mickey's is tops too. Another thing we like instead of starting the trip with a character bkfst is ending it..you could do a nice big bkfst the morning you leave.
I love Biergarten too! Good choice. Le Cellier is also a must do, imo the best in Epcot. The counter service food in Morocco is better than Marrakesh's food. Been to that restaurant 9 times and its gone way down. Shame...only good thing is the entertainment, but if you want good Moroccan music and bellydancing just wait for Morockin's performances every couple hours. Another good option in Epcot is the Rose and Crown pub, which also has excellent viewing/seating for Illuminations fireworks and a great atmosphere.

As for HS, I'd skip Mama Melrose, imo, no better than Olive Garden...we just did the sci fi drive in in HS and LOVED it. Good for a lunch option though-mainly great burgers (best in DW) and shakes (also best in DW).
Love Yak and Yeti-best dim sum/dumplings.
Love Grand Floridian Cafe!-This restaurant is truly a hidden gem! Try Cinderella's Pumpkin Soup!
Another awesome GF option is Citricos. 2nd best meal we had in DW, followed by V&A's.
And as far as your DTD options....sorry :( No way would I do Planet Hollywood when I'm in Disney with so many other great options that are unique. You can get Planet Holly in any other city anywhere...and the food isn't much different than Applebee's. Kinda feel the same way about Rainforest, but that chain isn't as easy to find as PlanetH. If you want a DTD option, I'd rather do Fulton's. More unique. But we prefer to go with a unique dining experience at Epcot, on a night Epcot closes early...and then hit DTD afterwards for evening shopping and dessert.
Not sure if any of this helps! FWIW!
(can you tell we are crazy foodies!)

The only 'eh' one I have is MM in HS.... I went a few years ago and it is one of the few restaurants that I have absolutely no memory of...every other one I can recall something about it....so to me it wasn't memorable! If you want to stay in HS, I would say try the Sci Fi Drive In - the atmosphere alone is alot of fun...always a highlight to my stay. If you are not locked into HS, and don't mind a boat trip or walk, may I suggest Kouzzina over at the Boardwalk? I loved the menu and even my finicky friend was happy with the meal.....

What did you have at Kouzzina? I've looked at the menu and don't see anything that looks good to me. The other option I'm considering is going to Cape May Cafe on our DHS day.
Mama Melrose is not a must do, just want to check it off our list. I've been to every other TS at DHS, except for HBD, and want to cross it off our list.
Plus I did want to do Italian one day of our trip and it only fits in on our DHS day.
Also, to save money, we are not getting park hoppers. If we had those we could just hop to Epcot and go to Tutta Italia.
I just hope Mama Melrose isn't completely horrible. I have been some recent TR's that have had favorable reviews of MM so I am hoping for the best.

Looks good except Marrakesh...that's the only place at Disney that we will NEVER go back to...very bland food...like eating dirt/sand...blah!!!

I'd pick Sci Fi at DHS over Mama Melrose, and then do dinner at Via Napoli on Friday night for my Italian fix. Sci Fi is a cool and unique atmosphere, something you can only do at Disney, while we found MM to just be mediocre basic Italian dishes. The food and reviews for Sci Fi are also more consistent than MM. We loved Via Napoli, and it's one we will probably repeat on a future trip. I would also avoid Marrakesh - I knew a group of 9 who ate there and only 2 liked it, and 1 because they liked the belly dancers. This place is easy to get ADRs at and I have to wonder why.
