What do you suggest using for motion sickness for kids

My dd is almost 9 years old and suffers from extreme motion sickness. We can't usually drive for more than 15-20 minutes without her feeling ill. I usually give her Gravol (brand name) when we travel and she is fine with it. I have checked with our Pediatrician and he says it is fine go give her something every day of our vacation, as long as we follow the recommended dosage. I am hoping to not have to give her something every day, but I want to be prepared just in case. We are Canadian and I have heard that they have some very good products for motion sickness in the U.S.

Any recommendations?

Let her sit in the front seat or at least by the window, have her keep her head up and SLIGHTLY recline the seat. Crack the window open or have an air vent blowing on her all the time.

Most people here take Bonime (sp?) or Dramamine but they can make you sleepy.

Sipping ginger ale helps too.

She doesn't usually get sleepy with Gravol , but I only give her a half-dose. I really want her to be able to go on some of the rides that are a little bumpy. We will definetely avoid the really nausea-inducing ones (like Soarin'). However, over at Islands of Adventure, she really wants to try The Forbidden Journey, which makes me very nervous!

I give my daughter this everyday while we are on our cruises. It has never made her drowsy.

Checking online it appears that Gravol is the same as Dramamine.

I usually give my kids Dramamine. I have given them Kids Bonine before but I have a hard time finding it.

My kids all get car sick if we're in the car for more than 15 minutes. But I've never had to give them anything for rides at WDW. They've done ToT, RNRC and Soarin' with no problem.

We use OTC and prescription meds depending on the family member, but you can supplement with pretzels to nibble on. Candied or crystallized ginger worked for me.
