What do you say when someone near you sneezes?

God bless you around the kids and people I know .......and YUCK to a few of the rug rats that come here........or ewwwwwwwwww

Not a thing, but I do expect the person to say "Excuss me" because they just contaminated my air.

In my case, "Cover your mouth - you've just managed to get me fired!! "

Mostly though, "God Bless You.." ;)

Depends on if the person is Italian or American. If they are American I say bless you, if they are Italian I say salute' (pronounced sa-loo-tay).

Depends.....most people Bless You but younger DS...Bless You, Don't use your sleeve!!!!!!

On a side note I used to babysit for 2 little girls and encouraged them to say please, thank you, and bless you. Well one day the little sister coughed and the older one said "Cough You" :p I was ahhhhh B what did you just say? She said "Cough You, cuz lil B coughed. I was :rotfl: I then explained that bless you was for sneezing but if she wanted to say something for her sister coughing then she could say Excuse you or ask her sister if she needed a drink of water. To this day when the boys and I are out somewhere we'll give each other a wink or raised eyebrow and mouth Cough you.

God bless you.

After all, whether they believe or not, who couldn't use a blessing from God! :)

I say, "Bless you. Please sneeze in your elbow, not your hand." I work in a preschool.

I say "Bless You."
Jerry Seinfeld says "You are sooooo good lookin'!":jester:

GAAH...BOOEY

Kind of a cross between God Bless You and boogies

I just say "Bless". Kindof my shortened version of it.

Me too! Just "Bless." It's caught on at work, too; everone says it!

Actually, I'm saying "blesse." I used to say "dieu te blesse" (sp?) in Louisiana, but for some reason it feels pompous to use French words here. So I shortened it.

BTW, I'm atheist too, but I do feel obligated to acknowledge the sneeze. I say "'scuse me" when I sneeze and "thank you" when I'm blessed. It IS all very silly, isn't it?

In school, I say "COVER YOUR MOUTH!!!"

Then I say, "Bless you."

Anywhere else, I say, "God Bless You."

Growing up my father use to say "did Ya get any on ya?"

We say God Bless You!

Gesundheit - it what was always said in my house when I was growing up.

My mother has this annoying habit of saying it when I'm about to sneeze, and then I can't sneeze! Thanks, Mom!
