What do you remember most about World of Motion?

The lit up footprints and caveman blowing on his red hot feet, and the men with the wheel, triangle, & square.

Did this ride have some sort of room you go through that was a huge panoramic screen that showed a video with some sort of blizzard or snow storm that made it look and feel like you were going through??? I went to Epcot for the first time in Nov 1994 and I think this is a ride I was trying to remember.
Kim
It was a screen that was above and around you. Your ride car went on a track beneath the screen that was all around you. One of the scenes was bobsledding and one was snowmobiling. So, either might be the one you were remembering.

That scene with chickens everywhere! Some of them are over at Goofys Barnstormer now.

I loved this ride, loved the chickens

There was a video put out by GM, it showed a lot of the ride if I remember correctly. It was a promotional video that you got free if you test drived a GM car. My family did the test drive, got the video...and discovered WE WERE ON THE VIDEO! I remembered seeing video cameras set up just sitting there unmanned. Guess they were just capturing people walking by and we were the lucky ones walking through the car showroom that got put on it. I'm there in the video with my mom and dad wearing my daisy duck hat LMAO!

Oh... so many things! I loved this ride, and I keep forgetting that it's gone, so I'm disappointed all over again when I get there!

- The caveman blowing on his filthy red feed
- The Roman chariot going up the street & disappearing, then magically reappearing to do the whole trip again, and again, and again, and...
- The car with the square wheels, this one always cracked me up!

I love this effect too, but I think it's in Spaceship Earth (I know it is, actually). Did they move it from WoM?

Steve

I thought the chariot was in WoM, but I could be wrong... I'll just have to see when I'm there in September. I'll be happily surprised if I was wrong!!

I remember some sort of wheel invention with Donald Duck but this may be from somewhere else.

I remember the long lines too, & when you went up the platform in the cars. I sometimes here the attraction on Live365 & it brings back memories.

I don't know if they also had it in WoM, but it's been in Spaceship Earth since it opened. So, I know it wasn't moved (because WoM was still open).

I liked this ride at the time (same for horizons). But looking back on it, I have to say that I remember very little motion for a ride named World of Motion.

I seem to recall (on the right hand side of the ride) a guy in a small garage, repairing a bike. Looked absolutely real to me.

I remember after the ride you are going through displays of new cars and there was a work space with a welder and chassis fixture and tools and such laying around, and thinking "I want to work here!"

I bought a DVD of the ride...I spent a lot of my childhood at EPCOT since my father worked there when it opened, so all of those old rides bring back a lot of memories for me.

i liked the guy in the boat looking at the dragon with the telescope!

I also love the song...and the songwriter (who wrote a lot of songs for Disney) has the coolest name, X. Atencio...it just sounds cool :cool1:

I loved the song! And good news- if you buy the WDW park soundtrack the song is on it. There other great oldies on it too- the original Imagination song, the song from the Kitchen Cabaret, the Magic Memories song. Makes me sad that I'll never experience them again. Although I do really like Test Track but I with they would just add the new rides instead of replacing the oldies with them.

Oooo, you brought back memories...

World of Motion was my first job at Disney...my most vivid memory was of walking on the belt saying "watch your step" and wearing those ugly red and blue jumpsuits!

But I do miss that ride...

I remember the cave man and his hot feet, and the wheel inventor, and the HUGE screen with the bobsledding video. Also, the ride vehicles that were on the outside of the building, and the building being shaped like a giant wheel.

That scene is from Spaceship Earth (where they are talking about how the Roman road system connected the parts of the Roman empire together, but also provided a way for enemies to get in and conquer it).
There might have also been a part like that in World of Motion, but I don't remember it.

you're not crazy or combining rides.
There was a scene like that in both attractions. (If you had Wings and World of Motion). The one from World of Motion showed the bobsled trail.
You actually traveled thru the screen with the movie playing on the sides and above around you. The screen from "If you Had Wings" is still there in Buzz Lightyear - it's the "movie" that you travel thru before the last room.

My favorite scene from World of Motion is the centaur with the shy girl in front of him.
Here's another website about World of Motion.

that link brings me to ads :(

Where did you find a DVD of the ride? I found a fan video on the web, but it is not that great. I would love to have a better copy.
