What Do You Regret Most About Your Vacation?

For me, it's not taking enough pictures of the scenery. We have amazing pictures both from MM and from our camera phones of my kids and also family shots, but I do regret not really taking any of Disney itself. I love looking at the 'picture of the day' and seeing these, but am kicking myself for not taking any. These would have been great too to include in a Disney photo book I'm currently putting together (although I did manage to capture a cool one of the 'welcome to disney' sign as we were driving under it)

How about others. What do you regret and would do differently next time?

I would have made a point to find more MM photographers. We spent an entire day in AK and only found one when we first walked into the park, and one at TH. We ran in to a lot at MK and DHS, but still didn't search out as many as we would have liked. And although we didn't spend a great amount of time at Epcot, we only went there for dinners 2 nights, we literally got one picture when we first walked in...and that was it!!

We met most of our characters at meals, so next time if we do MM I think we would meet more characters in the parks to take advantage.

I also REALLY regret not getting a dole whip at MK this trip! I got whatever it is they say is the same at AK, but it is NOT the same, IMO! I think I'll be dreaming of a dole whip float until I return!! ::yes::

I regret not doing a resort day. I'd scheduled it but once we got there, I felt like that we needed to be at the parks so we didn't miss anything. Our second to last day was at HS and it was a bad day for all of us because we were tired and cranky. It would have been a perfect day to take things easy and sit by the pool.

I always regret not taking a resort/rest day.

I always plan for one and then I just can't do it once I am there.

From last trip, I regret doing too much resort time. lol We spent the mornings at the park, and the afternoon to a certain extent, but I remember being back at the resort with my dd swimming a LOT of the time. This trip will be a lot cooler and I am planning on MORE park time :)

Went last month to WDW for a week. Did not see the FoF parade. That is a hard part of the day to be in the park when you have little ones if you do rope drop and/or plan to stay late.

Splitting our trip as much as we did. I wish we had booked our entire vacation at WDW then just done a day trip to Universal. That and not having full not in a park day- just to relax and slow down a bit more.

Only solution is a longer trip next time!:)

I regret not having more time. My kids were rock stars but zonked out by the evening

One December I REALLY regretted not packing our insulated underwear, gloves, hats, and heavy coats!!!! :rotfl:

That's funny because my regret is that I take too few pictures of family. I usually end up with thousands of pictures covering every detail of the parks, resort, etc, but very few of any family members. I think it's because none of us really likes to have our pictures taken. Some family members always look grouchy even when they aren't feeling that way. Looking my pictures later I really wish I'd insisted on more family pictures.

I have no regrets over our last trip.

My only regret was leaving-even after 21 nights.:lmao:

I regret not riding Soarin' more than once this trip. We kept meaning to get back to Epcot and ride it again but it never happened and I never wanted to waste a whole day of FPs at Epcot when we only wanted to ride one ride.

Our trip was too short, we really only did three days in Disney (all MK) because people in the group wanted to spend two days at the ocean and one day at Universal.

We didn't take enough pictures.

We didn't meet Cinderella, Alice, or Snow White, all of which I think my kids would have liked.

Oh no. So sorry.
At least we did get tons of family shots (and we rarely have one of the four of us before)

Too few pictures seems to be a common theme

I know one other regret....before we left I saw all these pictures of various decadent cup cakes. But when home, I realized I didn't try even one.

Wish I would have shot more video.

Wish we would have had a resort day, or a half day.

Would like to try a more relaxed pace.

I am the opposite on the picture taking theme. I regret taking so many pictures and videos because I was so busy doing that, I didn't get to soak it all in for myself. I missed out on the magic because I was too busy getting photos. I realize I can look at the videos and pictures later but its not the same as being there in the moment when it happens. I hope that makes sense.

Scheduling more down time. Time where we head back to the hotel to rest in the middle of the day or even spend the day at the resort.

With my pictures...I'll take a trip where everything is almost all scenery and regret not getting enough family pictures. Then I'll swing the opposite direction the next trip and not get enough scenery pictures.

I always regret not taking enough time to "stop and smell the roses".
I keep telling myself this trip we'll take a more relaxed style touring plan thanks to FP+. Most days our fastpasses are done by 2pm and if stand by lines are really that long we probably won't find ourselves waiting in them.
We planned one off day. We've never done that so I think we'll enjoy it.

I also find myself regretting not taking enough pictures. Whether it's of us or scenery. Last couple trips I feel like I wasted the energy of lugging my DSLR camera around when I come home with so few good pictures.

i regret that i couldn't plan it for any other time. it's not as long as i'd like, the timing is bad, and it's probably our last trip to wdw too. it hasn't even happened and it bums me out a bit.
