I know some of you make cute little "goody bags" or baskets to suprise your children when they get to DL. I am lookng for some ideas. I have 2 girls (2 & 4).
Also...
We are staying at DLH and I am wondering if they will put the baskets in the room for you? We will get there about 9 a.m. (check in) and then go to the parks. I know our room won't be ready until 3 but I wonder if I give them the stuff they will put it in there and we can say "Look Mickey left you this!!" :)

I'm having a few gift baskets and ears delivered to my room by "Vacation Planning" on the day we arrive. I ordered the Princess basket, Pirate basket and the soft water cooler basket. I'm not sure exactly what is in each one but you can kinda see a small picture in the slide show on this page: http://disneyland.disney.go.com/disneyland/en_US/myVacation/index?name=VacationPlanningServicesPage . They also said they can get anything they sell in the parks and have it delivered to your room too!

I am really interested in this too - I need a fun way to tell a 6yr old we're going to Disneyland, once we have arrived into Anaheim! We are staying at the HoJo and would love to get something into the room before we get there...
I saw someone wrote a letter from Mickey to the kids - what kind of stuff did you say. Any tips/suggestion gratefully received from here - but there is no Disneystore in New Zealand - so can't stock up from there!!!

i want to do something like this too...the link crazyduck posted has great baskets, but they only deliver to the DL resorts, and we're staying off-site. so i'm trying to look for other places that make disney-themed baskets!

Crazy Duck can I be nosey and ask how much was the princess and soft cooler basket?

The Calofornia Cooler Pack was $47 bit I paid $67 for the upgrade which will incluse a character towel. The Princess Pack was $94.... They'll do other stuff for you too. I also have them delivering a handwritten welcome note, autographed photos and a first visit button for my DS! :thumbsup2 Here I'll post the entire menu of baskets that they sent me:

Thanks so much!! I think I will just make my own and bring them with me. :) Kinda expensive for my blood! lol

I've only made them for older "kids" (adults really), but I've included Disney fruit snacks, nut mix in Disney lidded plastic ware, Disney lip balm, ponchos (for wet rides), Disney flip flops, pins.

You can find lots of Disney stuff at Target or Walmart and I hit the Disney Store and disneyshopping.com for sale items.

I don't know how willing offsite hotels are to put stuff in your room. The Disney hotels have always been great about it. In the past, we get to the hotel too early to check in. But they will hold our luggage for us. While DH and DD are getting the luggage taken care of, I go over to guest services and give them a princess nightgown. When we finally do get the key to the room, guest services has placed the gown on a bed with balloons and an autograpg photo. Super magical.
This trip we are staying at the Desert Inn and I doubt they will be that accamodating

One time I put some princess PJ's in my luggage and managed to get them under dd pillow before she noticed, also I made a card from the princesses welcoming her to DL. she was thrilled, and assumed the princesses left them for her.

I'm sure the hotel will hold the gift basket at the front desk...maybe you can bring your little one with you to pick up the special surprise at the front desk?! :confused3

Cool!! Did you ask for the picture and the ballon? A friend told me you can get free pics in your room but I dont know much about that or who you call.

I am going to do a couple little goodie bags for DD and DN. I plan to try and get up there faster than DH and the kids once we check in and leave it on the beds, then just stand in the hallway like I'm waiting for them. Ok, probably not the smoothest plan but I'm hoping the kids will be too excited to care LOL.

I have done this on four three trips so far and "Mickey" has never been caught. We pull the .....oh, Mom forgot something in the room bit...and works like a charm. We have been able to pack gifts (books, pj's, shirts, stuffed animals, etc.) without DS noticing!

Just put it out on your way out...or do it at night. That's what I did, I even took glitter and a Polly Pocket shoe to make Tink's footprints in the glitter. :) My girls loved it!! Even the 11 y.o. (now 12) was very excited the next morning. :)

I did the cooler thing that Sy is doing when we stayed at PPH in Jan. for DBF's b-day. They delivered it the day after we checked in, when we got back to the hotel it was there waiting. But it was very $$$ for what we got so I won't do it again. Next time I'll just do the Tink thing at night again. :)

Here are some of my ideas for gilrs--

PJs
princess markers (found at DollarTree) and pad of paper
Hair ties (Tink and Pricesses at Walmart)
Socks (target recently had Minnie, Tink, Sleeping Beauty, and others in dollar spot)
Earing or other jewelry-- again walmart or target
fruit snacks-- princess
stuffed plush minnie/mickey or other character
shirts
GLOW STICKS/NECKLACE/BRACELETT (for the parade)

We leave something out for our girls everyday. I put it out before we leave for the park (after our mid-day break). My girls know that every night when we get back to the hotel from DL they have a Tinkerbell surprise. For us it cuts back on the I want this and can I have this because they know Tink has left something for them. We have done it for the past 3 trips and the kids love it. We leave things like pj's (the first night), then usually items I get cheap at the Disney store. The expandable wash cloths, cups, shirts, etc.

We've been picking up Disney things when we see them, we leave them in the room so when we get back to our room at night we tell them that Mickey left a surprise for them. So far we have bought them matching cinderella shirts, matching pooh shirts, hair thingys and each of them a new disney toothbrush. The shirts were $4.99 each at the disney store and toothbrushes and hair thingys were like $2.50 at wal mart.

We are staying at the DLH this time (YIPPY:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: ) I am going to have micky cookies and rice krispy treates sent to the room one night.
