What do you put in cider when you heat it to make it "spiced?"

Do you buy mulling spices? If so, which ones?

Do you "do it yourself?" If so, what do you add (and how much)?

How do you serve this to guests (crockpot, on the stove, etc.)?

Thanks a bunch!

Aspen Mulling Spices is a good one!

An inexpensive way to spice up cider is red hot candies. You can get your cider as spicy as you want by adding just a few or a hand full!!

which is a cider with some stuff in it......I have heard just the mulling spices can be bought at the grocery store.......I put the hot cider in a crock pot and people just ladled it out when they wanted it

Hot spiced cider
serves 20

1 gal. apple cider
32 whole cloves
32 whole allspice
4 sticks cinnamon
1 c. brown sugar

Combine cider, spices, and sugar in large pot. Let it come to a slow boil, then let it simmer for as long as you need before serving. Or let it cool, put it back in the bottle and heat by the mug.

I have made this for a crowd in a large coffee pot. Just combine everything and give it time for the flavors to cook through. This is easy and everyone likes it.

I bought the mulling spices at Williams Sonoma-- I normally would have waited and looked the grocery store, but I had a sample and it was sooo good.

I buy spiced apple wine! then I add cranberry juice to it. A little different but so good!

We like Aspen Mulling Spices. I use a gallon of apple cider and one box of the spices. I put mine in a crockpot and keep it warm for a long time.
