I will be heading to Disney on July 23, 2011 and made reservations for Kona (which I had never ate there before). I was wondering in your opinions which restaurant you prefer.

I prefer the atmosphere of O'hana but Kona is a great place to eat, as well. You can't really go wrong with either.

Ohana and Kona are both great choices!

Generally, we like Kona for lunch and Ohana for breakfast and dinner. The food at Kona is great and we can order what we want so the price is far more reasonable. That's particularly important for us because we have two pre-teen "Disney adults" who don't eat nearly enough to justify the fixed price at Ohana.

On the other hand, I really prefer the atmosphere and view at Ohana (the lagoon and the volcano pool, with the castle in the distance.) And I do enjoy the food - particularly the salad, bread, appetizers and dessert.

Lately, we've been doing breakfast at Ohana because our kids enjoy the characters and the cost is more reasonable for our two pre-teen "Disney adults!" We love Ohana breakfast - it's one of our favorite character meals.

So OP, it may depend on the ages and appetites of those in your travel party - hope this helps a bit. Happy Planning! :wizard:

oooooooh, this is a tough choice!!!! :headache:
I LOVE Ohana for the atmosphere, FANTASTIC characters, unlimited supply of their yummy juice & pineapple bread & breakfast items (SO DELISH!)......but i also love Kona cause of the tonga toast!!! :rotfl: Theyre both SOOOOOO DELICIOUS! I'd choose based on what your in the mood for. If you want atmosphere, kona might not be for you. its nice, dont get me wrong, but nothing "wow" about it. Its pretty basic. Kona is quicker thou and you order off the menu. Again, all depends on what you want. :confused3
I'd probably pick Ohana to be honest. :thumbsup2

Very excellent point!!! Ohana is a lot more expensive, clearly cause of the characters and atmosphere....whereas Kona is more reasonably priced for a quicker meal. Again, all depends on the needs of your family.

While we like Kona's, we love Ohanas. I think the food is better and the atmosphere is so much better too. I don't think you can go wrong with either, though.

We like both restaurants but if we had to pick between the two (either for breakfast or dinner) 'Ohana would win both times. I will say that we much prefer Kona's breakfast to their dinner. We were just not overly pleased with our Kona dinner. Not to much so that we wouldn't go back or anything, but we'd rather go for breakfast than dinner again.

We had such a horrible meal at Ohana, that I don't think I could pay my kids to go back there. I really wanted to like it, and I did love the concept, but we had horrible service and the meat was all dry and overcooked. I keep suggesting that we give it another try, but the kids shoot me down every time. I know many others rave about it, but I may never know why.

Kona. The stir fry asian noodles (switched the peanut sauce with ginger sauce) were amazing. The Tuna Poke was amazing. And Kona is much quieter than Ohana.

I like the atmosphere and view better at 'Ohana (as long as we get a table close to the window), but prefer the food at Konas. I love ordering sushi from the sushi bar as an appetizer and their tuna oscar with green tomatoes for an entree.:cloud9: We like the bread pudding from Ohana's better as a dessert though.
