Park hours? Shows? EE/EMH days?

We plan ours around character appearances and food. :goodvibes :goodvibes

The humidity! Well, that and the heat. We are not at all used to the humidity though, being from the Rockies, so it really wipes our kids out. The humidity sets in about Mid to late May and is there till about the end of October.

Then we look at crowd sizes/holidays. We travel with little kids and hour lines are just not in their plans. So, we avoid peak times and all summer, plus holidays. The park is just so much more enjoyable when there are fewer people. I am not saying empty, but just about a 4.

As for which days I go where. We avoid EMH days pretty much, unless we have to see Spectro. We find MK is best Tues, Weds and Thurs.

We also are big fans of getting to the park gates at opening. That seems to make the day in whatever park much better.

Hope that helps!

December vacation around MVMCP,CP,Osbourne Lights and all the holiday doings first part of December when crowds are light. Our other trip is in time when we can get time off from our work at same time, this year it is May. :goodvibes :wave2:

My family planns our vacation around....
-the crowds
-weather
-school
-job(when we can get the time off)
-what's going on in the parks during that month
(love to go at Christmas time)........

We plan our trips around our anniversary and that's why we do a lot of travelling during the month of May. :goodvibes

Our School District uses the year around schedule. We get 2 weeks off from school the last week in Sept and first week in Oct. This corespods with the slow times for my work since I own my own business. For those of you who dont take a vacation for the reason that you dont know what will happen to your business if you are gone a week. Dont worry it will still be there when you get back. Just surround yourself with good people and it will substain a yearly trip to WDW

:cool1:

We plan our FL vacations in spring or fall to avoid the scorching heat of summer. We plan our WDW itinerary based on food! DH loves the vast variety of restaurants all in one place. Last year and this year, we'll be there during the Food and Wine Festival.

we plan around our anniversary, avoiding the humidity, and the crowds.... we did that once, will try not to do it again, but if we can squeeze it in, we will go no matter what the crowds or temps.

Our AP expiration date, we try to get at least 3 trips in the 12 month window.

First off, around school schedules - why else would we go during Spring Break!!!!

But once the dates are set, then we plan around which park which day (hoping to hit the least crowded), and then around "must do" rides and shows. I try to space out our early mornings and our late nights. (And of course, you know which character we have to see!)

Love the new picture, Lisa!

School schedules first - we've been in year round school too for 9 years - actually chose it partially so we could do WDW at off-peak times. Then that gives us the opportunity to get smaller crowds (second most important) and cheaper rates (third).

DD goes to high school next yr, back to traditional schedule. Can't imagine when we'll get to go again, unless we leave her at home!

:teeth: Our BUDGET!!!!!!!!!!!!!

O.K. I know what you mean.....we are late risers, so we tend to plan around the EE park schedule....we go to the EE park the day after EE. We love to eat, so it is amazing that we don't pplan around that...oh, and FP pretty much dictates our schedule ....we always say we are going to go back to the room for a break..but a,ways want to do one more ride..... :earboy2:

We are blessed to be able to go most every weekend, so we plan our time around whatever our 4 yo wants to do. If it is the same show, attraction or whatever several times in a day, so be it. We got the passes so she could have some snese of normalcy where for us there isn't usually.

First, work schedules. DH doesn't have the seniority to get the same weeks off from school that I have. By default we go right between the end of school and before the July 4th weekend (a sometimes vain attempt to avoid the biggest of the big crowds, but sometimes we get lucky!).

Once we're there, we avoid early EMH like the plague and stick to non-EMH parks. We plan out our Fastpass strategy ahead of time so we can hit everything we want before we burn out. Luckily my DH is there to keep me from becoming a total commando.

Tax season! Just over! I am not allowed to leave work from January 15 to April 15...We are going Apr 27-May 1, just in time to get back to work May 2 and send in a few Iowa tax checks on the deadline. Fortunately we don't have to work around hay season anymore for vacations. DH is starting a new job the day after we return!

I work for a software company which produces software for government agencies (I specifically work with software for tax collectors), so I have to plan my vacations around when their busy times are. I would love to go to MNSSHP sometime, but unfortunately I will be working around the clock at that time of year.

School breaks, since I'm a teacher and have 3 kids. Then whether or not we get a good AP rate!
