Since having kids? For me, its laying in bed on weekends till noon with DH. Now that we have kids, they are in there with us at 6am! I love em, but I'd love alone time too!!! So what do you miss the most?

My kids are 16 and 12, I don't remember!:rotfl2: On Sundays the whole fam damily jumps in our bed including the dogs!

I miss spontaneity. We have a very handicapped 14yo son and getting away by ourselves even to go to a movie requires planning and juggling. We recently qualified for some help on the weekends, 3 hours Fri-Sat-Sun. But it's not enough. I would give anything to have someone we could trust to care for him for a week so we could go do some things with our other kids, like go on a cruise or go to the beach. I fear that we won't get any let up until he's an adult. DH and I are both 53; we're both dealing with serious health problems. We'll be 61 when he turns 21. So, yeah...spontaeity.

Going to the movies. We used to go almost every weekend; now it's once or twice a year unless we're taking the kids to something.

Lazying around in bed watching movies on a Sunday.

Napping when I want to.

Running into Starbucks for a quick coffee ... granted this is a money saver now but in S. Florida drive thrus were few and far between. Unbuckling a toddler just wasn't worth it!

I wouldn't trade any of it for anything though ... I still get to lazy in bed on a Sunday, it's just during nap time. Of course I can gaurantee that anytime I need to nap (like now because I am sick and PG) he will not nap. No nap today ...

My figure.

Honestly, I would love to be as fat as I thought I was at 125 pounds. :lmao:

A twist to the thread.

My girls are 20 and 22. I wish they were 5 and 7 and still jumping on my bed Sunday morning.

Enjoy it while you can .............

If there only 20 & 22, I'm sure they will do it again if you ask nicely! :yay: :yay:

I miss nice dinners out. Ahhhhhhhhh how I miss a romantic meal with wine, and lingering over dessert and coffee.

Now our dinners are usually at quick restaurants and we inhale our food with one hand while trying to entertain a fidgety toddler with the other. We have it down to a science.

Every once in a while - usually on a Sunday - I like to lay around in bed and watch movies. Now that Scooner is 2.5 she wants lots of attention, so it's impossible to watch anything for more than 5 minutes. Fortunately, DHs parents like to see her for a few hours on a weekend day, so that gives me some time to chill.

I miss free time in general. What did I do with myself before soccer practice, girl scouts, open house and dentist appointments - and I am not talking about myself, either. :lmao:

I understand. I remember well the days when going out to dinner meant any restaurant that had at least one thing I could eat with one hand. Which ruled out steak, spagetti, boiled shrimp, and anything with sauce or gravy. That left pretty much pizza, chicken legs, and fried shrimp. Even salad was hard to eat. Now with DS14 the rule is "anyplace we can get in and out of in 20 min/"
