I was checking my dates for December at Disney's website. We're staying at the WL from 12/19 to 12/20 with the dining plan and 5 day park hoppers. We have a courtyard view room. As much as I like the courtyard if it's INNER courtyard, I was looking to see if woods view was available. When I plugged in the dates from the 19th to the 25th, all that came up was courtyard.

When I plugged in the 20th to the 25th, I had my choice of every room category from standard to concierge.

When I plugged in just the 19th to the 20th, again I had my choice of every room category.

But as soon as I put back the 19th to the 25th, just courtyard came up.

Is this a scam on Disney's part? Is it the corporate side trying to get us to pay the higher holiday rates? I know I could book 2 separate ressies, one for a room-only for the one night (19th) especially since we're getting in late, but why should I have to do that? What if I want woods view or club level for the whole stay? It just seems odd to me that the availibility is there yet I cannot book what I truly want unless I play the game.

I also checked availibility at the GF and the system was working the exact same way.

What is your take on this??

The system could be having database problems.
I would call WDW directly to confirm room availability.

Good luck on deciding your resort choice.

My take is that at both Wilderness Lodge and Grand Floridian on/through (remember, you didn't check any dates prior to this) December 19 ONLY, just one type of room is available at each resort. Beginning on December 20, and continuing at least through Christmas, there is a wider selection of room categories available. Period. No scam.

We have had this also over xmas, if you call CRO and get them to check availability for the dates as you did online and it shows available if you were to make 2 bookings, ask to be put through to guest services.

They may be able to help you.

We mananged to get our room this way when we couldn't get the availability for our dates as 1 stay.

BTW we were also told that it is so Disney can maximise room revenue over xmas
