Dh and I found a 2008 Chrysler Town & Country that I have fallen in love with! This will be our first mini van.. Owners out there, just wondering what you love/hate about it.

TIA

I have a 2002 that has 130000 miles on it and I love it. If I had to choose anything that I don't like I would have to say only having 7 seats instead of 8 and not having sto and go seating. I have a longer one so there's plenty of cargo space. The only repairs I've done have been with the transmission 2 years ago, but I can't remember what that was and this year I will have to have a leak in my air conditioning repaired. It's been very trustworthy.

I have a 2003 and really like mine. I bought it new ( great deal at end of season), and have only had a couple of problems, but nothing too major. My mom drove it the other day and commented how easy the steering is.

The kids love the DVD player, and I love my automatic doors and hatch.

I have a 2010 and had a 2007. I Love my T&C. I like the stow and go because I can put the seats in the floor myself and don't have to have my husband take them out or do it for me. I like the 2/3, 1/3 split in the back seat. I like to store extra stuff in the stow and go when we travel.

i'm so afraid of buying a used car. We bought my '99 Chevy Malibu brand new and it currently has 124,000 miles on it. Has NEVER broken down on me (knock on wood) We can not afford a brand new mini van so we are looking at used ones...

We just bought a used 2006 T&C. We had to bring it back a week after purchasing it cause the motor in the power locks in the back doors was not working. They fixed it no problem and at no cost to us, which was nice. We were lucky and found our 2006 and it only had 28,000 miles on it. It is leather, DVD player, Stow and Go, Sun/Moon Roof, Power everything, Heated seats.

I will say that I don't like that the gas pedal is very stiff and sounds like its scraping (not sure if this is normal for the T&C), but no one else seems to notice what I do with teh gas pedal LOL.

It is very roomy and we will be taking our first driving trip to Disney from Boston with it. The trip was the reason we traded in our Rav4 for the van. I LOVE having all this room.

I love that mine is a 2010 Volkswagen Routan, and that it was cheap.

Seriously: the VW Routan is the Chrysler T&C just with a VW badge (made in the same factory, by Chrysler). I think the suspension settings are different, but when you open the hood, you see Chrysler logos everywhere.

And because it hasn't been selling well for VW, you can get fantastic deals at VW dealers. We bought ours new in November, and got leather seats, back-up camera, and rear-seat DVD system for under $27 K.

Add in that you get 3 years of maintenance included (because its a VW) and you get a pretty great deal.

As for what I like about it: I love that it has separate screens for the back rows, and you can watch different things on those screens. Drives nicely too.

When we were shopping we looked at the Honda Odyssey. Its a bit of a nicer car with more bells and whistles....but more than $10k more, comparably equipped. Plus we would have had to get on a waiting list just to buy one. VW has Routans nicely equipped on the lot.

I have my second T&C and I love it. We have the touring edition with leather, dual DVDs, power everything, etc... I will say that we have had some issues with this one as have 2 friends who got theirs from the same dealer witn a month of us. We know of other people who bought theirs a few months later and did not have any of the issues.

We have a 2007 T&C Touring Edition and I would not trade it for anything! We love it and I have driven Chrysler minivans since 1988...they have always been very dependable and comfortable for us.

We just bought a 2010 T&C Touring a few months ago. I love it! I had been trying to decide between and SUV or a mini van and once I test drove it I fell in love with it. This is my first experience with a Chrysler but so far we have been very pleased.

We've got an '03 T&C. We got it for a steal back in '06 and it's been very good to us. I've put nearly 100k miles on it in the 5yrs I've owned it and it goes on long trips a few times a year.

The only work we've put into it is maintenance (oil changes, etc) and then some repairs from road damage (wicked bad potholes here :headache: ) and wearing out (just replaced the driver's side window motor). Nothing has cost too much to repair which is nice.

I would get a newer version in a heartbeat if I could. We don't have stow n go or those automatic doors and they would both be very nice features to have for us.

popcorn::

This is one of the vehicles DW and I are looking at. Buying a Minivan is a MUST if we want to take a trip to WDW later this year.

Anybody know if the Chrysler T&C and the Dodge Grand Caravan are basically the same? It looks like the interiors are very similar.

I lucked out and got a 2007 T&C in May with 14,000 miles on it!! It was truly an *old lady* van and it looked brand new when I got it!!
I love it!!
The T&C, for me... the stow and go is why I got it. I am flipping those seats up and down all the time depending on what I am doing.

Yes, the T&C and the grand caravan are the same, both made by chrysler.
OP, I have a 08 grand caravan & they have brake issues. I am needing to get new brakes every 16,000-17,000 miles! Check into that before you buy!

We have a 2008 Grand Caravan, which is the same thing except for minor cosmetic things. It will flip 100,000 miles this week, but still drives like new. Absolutely love it, especially the stow and go. Make sure you get the bigger motor, the smaller one isn't as good and has problems (3.8 vs 3.3, I think?). This is our 3rd one, we've loved them all. I'd make sure that it is the extended one so you have extra trunk space. I wish we'd gotten the auto lift gate, but I think that is standard on the T&C.

I have a 2008 T&C with all the bells and whistles. Though I love to drive a minivan, I don't like this particular year. Tons of recalls and I'm always in the shop for stuff not working too. Last month it was the heat not working. During the summer I had AC problems twice. The transmission has troubles. We have only 38,000 miles on it. I have been to the shop for recalls for 8 different things. Most of the time it's two days without my car which is annoying. The last recall was for the power doors that can catch on fire in the door panel. A little close to the gas tank I must say!! We have lots of issues with them not working right. Nothing like having a door stuck open. I actually just got a another recall letter yesterday. A hose that can leak into the passenger side dashboard and deploy the airbag, nice. Needless to say we will not buying another Chrysler. It will Sienna or Oddesey next time.

I had a 2005 T & C loved the car until the transmission went at 34,000 miles. The put a rebuilt one in. I was not happy about that. The van never drove the same way. I traded it in in 2007 for a Seina and will never go back to a Chrysler again.

I LOVE mine!!!!! Got it 2 years old and worth the wait. I had a Dodge minivan before and it is just like it but with Stow and Go and a DVD player. So worth it especially since we moved and go home often.

I looked on wikipedia and it appears the Dodge Caravan is pretty much the same as the T&C. I know people who have Dodge Caravans and they have been really good (at least the older ones).

I had and 05 and we just got the new model in November. I love it. I love the stow and go, the sound system and dvd player. My husband and I were not totally sold on getting another van but we both really like it.
