Hi all,
You are an amazing wealth of information. Looking for your favourite things about the ship. Best tips you have. Thanks as always.

We love the Magic! We love sitting out on the deck at Cabanas for breakfast each morning. The smaller size and fewer people we like as well. It doesn't seem as crowded to us as the Fantasy and Dream. We love the cleanliness of the ship! The staff are always working on something painting, cleaning, repairing.... constantly. It is just very clean which we love! We really have had fantastic service on the Magic as well. Our room attendants have been great and our servers in the MDR's and Palo have been super.
I can't wait until our next cruise!!

Just wanted to say thank you so much for your response. It is much appreciated! We are so excited to try her. We have an aft cabin which we've never done we usually are forward and we are just excited to explore a new ship.

Love palo on the magic. It takes up the whole back of the boat and the brunch spread is amazing.

Good luck!

The overall feel of the ship is much more relaxed than the Dream class. The staff and guests just seem to be more relaxed which can lead to everyone being in a really good mood, generalities here though so no flames. You will randomly run into people multiple times each trip, and actually remember them, haven't had this happen often on the bigger ships. There is plenty to do and we really like the adult pool area, it gets a lot more sun than the bigger ships and the rectangular pool allows you to swim mini laps when the pool isn't busy early and late.

The dining rooms while loud, do seem less chaotic then the bigger ships. The Magic is our favorite ship as you can see in our timeline:)

We absolutely love the Magic. That being said, we have not been on the bigger ships, but I would have to be convinced to try one out. I like that there are less guests and that everything is easy to get and find. The first day is overwhelming because there is so much to see and navigating feels like a big deal, but once you find the places you will want to spend your time, its like being at home! (without cooking, cleaning, phones, or worries!!)

Four times on the Magic, all in the same stateroom!

On our last voyage a year ago we fell for her again. One of the features is indeed the crew -- there is a hard core of them who prefer to to work on this ship, and the pride in their work is evident. We were walking into Carioca's just after boarding, and one of the waiters came up to shake my husband's hand. He remembered us from three years previous -- and he hadn't even been our waiter on that trip!

Additionally as PPs have mentioned the ship's size is just right. It's easy to navigate, doesn't take forever to walk from bow to stern, and has a great welcoming atmosphere.

As cgolf said, we loved running into people all over the boat. We really had a chance to meet new people, which DH and I both loved. Also, the Magic is so easy to get around!!!

We have been once on the Magic and once on the Fantasy and have loved both very much. Other than stateroom issues we ran into on the Magic I loved everything about it. As others have said it feels so much less crowded and much more relaxing. I especially loved the Quiet Cove on the Magic.

That we are boarding her for a b2b2b in about 5 hours. Yes, 10 days of the Magic. And weather/seas permitting, 3 days at Castaway Cay.

This will be our second time on the Magic and I have to say I agree with all the positives mentioned above!

That sounds so heavenly. Have a great trip!!

The Magic is our favorite ship because, she was our first cruise ever in 2002, it was our best family vacation, our kids were 14 and 10 at the time.
We also renewed our vows on her in 2012, with our kids and grandkids there.
She holds a special place in my heart, so many wonderful memories. :cloud9:

The simplicity -- having done all four ships, and several other cruise lines with much larger ships -- the Magic's simplicity is what I miss. It will always be our "home". I like the original Palo's there -- the ones on the new ships are too big and too many options. The ability to walk from one end of the ship to the other without needing to rest is another great quality LOL

She was the ship we took for our very first trip to Europe and our very first Transatlantic cruise. She was the ship we took for our first trip through the Panama Canal. Everything about her is noble and classy. I was sorry to hear they were building the next two ships bigger instead of coming back down closer to the originals. There are too many giant ships up there -- there's a lot to be said for the smaller ones.

Everything. We've now traveled on the Fantasy and have the ability to compare. They are both incredible ships and each have their own charms. We prefer the Magic and Wonder, because of what most people have already stated. For us, fewer people = less mania about everything. I also find it less scheduled--the Fantasy is so big you really have to plan things if you want to see a certain character or see a certain show. The Magic and Wonder offer less bells and whistles but the content and programming is largely the same. Cast on all ships is absolutely amazing and is what makes DCL stand out above the rest. I would never turn down a cruise on either class of ship, but i do like the smaller ones better.

We have sailed every ship except the Fantasy. The Magic is our favorite ship mostly due to the service. Papertraveller is right. We talked to so many crew members who have worked on the Magic for more than 10 years and it really does show. Also, our last cruise was on the Dream and we were struck by how empty Castaway Cay seemed when taking the smaller ship. Loved the Magic.

I truly love the Magic. One of the things we discovered on our last cruise, which was our 3rd, was that as we got tired of the breakfast and lunch buffets, one of the MDR was open for sit down meals for both. I also love the Cove for lattes and the croissants are sooo good. I love the size and the set up of the ship itself.

Which MDR was sit down for breakfast? We usually do room service but wouldn't mind sit down
