My DH and DS are wanting to go back to POP Century, we stayed there in 2006, I am wanting a moderate, but they are just having a fit to go back to POP, so I was wanting to get excited about it, so I thought I would ask you POP lovers out there what you love most about it......Thanks

We stayed there last September. We loved the huge Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head, the Buttermilk fried chicken, the Hippy Dippy Pool, the tie die cheesecake!

I loved the $49 AP rate we got last Feb!!! Other than that, we loved the pools, we stayed in the 50's and the bowling theme was really cute. I loved the tye-dyed cheesecake, Everything Pop and our short walk to the main building. I liked watching the fireworks from the back side of our building. I think this is a really fun resort and would definitely stay there again.

We love POP and continue to go back over and over again! The pools are wonderful and DD always finds a new friend to play with and I can relax a bit and read a book.

The food court has always been great -- love the nachos after coming back from the parks for the day.

I have never had an issue with the bus service and my room is always clean.

:goodvibes We stayed there for 2 weeks last Oct. and really enjoyed it. The room was clean, the maid was very good and nice, the walk was short for the buses. We enjoyed it!:surfweb:

Besides the tie-dyed cheesecake, I like the fact that the resort is not so spread out, so no matter what room you get, you are close to all the action.

Honestly besides the overall atmosphere of the place, I love the music. That's right, I said the music! ;)
The music that they play is such a good variety because they play stuff from every decade. Within a matter of minutes I could hear an Elvis song, a Beatles song, and a Wham! song. :goodvibes
I also am a fan of the bus system, it's always been really good and the food court has some great options. I love it.

Parmesan crusted chicken, tie-dye cheesecake, icee dispenser...
Great bus service, nice big pools, short walks to main bldg...
Awesome theming, fun atmosphere, great tunes...

But most of all it is 100% Disney, once you get to the resort, you are immersed in Disney. Bright colors, children laughing and playing, happy CM's. It is wonderful.

I love the decor, theming and the bright colors! It makes me smile everytime I leave my room. I also like looking at hourglass lake.

I completely agree! I love the variety of music as well! The Food Court is large and offers lots of choices, and the store is large too. Also, we never had to wait very long for a bus. I just find it to be very Disney, and fun, but still relaxing :cool1:

Your story sounds so much like mine! We are going back to Disney in Nov/Dec. I wanted to stay at OKW or maybe even somewhere on the monorail line, but my DD insisted we stay at Pop. We went lat April and stayed here for the first time. I have to say that after staying in many of the other Disney hotels (non of the values though), I really wanted to hate Pop. I couldn't have been more wrong. I loved everything about it. It felt so Disney to me. The colors are terrific. The store is one of the better ones at the hotels. The food court is enormous and the choices are great. My DD adored the Goofy fountains. The arcade was nice and fun. The whole place was great. I for one am excited about staying here again and I hope you can start to feel it soon too!

Well...can't really help you with the 'what do you love part', but, I can relate to you as far as wanting to stay at a moderate. I keep bouncing back from Pop to POFQ :sad2:, I know my travel agent is prob. really sick of me by now :rotfl2:. Good luck w/your decision.

We have stayed at POP three times, and each time has been great! It is convenient, fun, and inexpensive.

Each time the buses were prompt and the lines weren't too long. We think it is a great place for kids because they have games and activities by the pool, plus the food court has many choices.

The last visit we stayed at ASMu and it was pretty, but it did not compare with POP. We will stay with POP in the future if we choose a value.

I loved all the postings about the music. They are right, it sets the mood and the songs bring up memories from the past!:hippie:

No matter what resort you decide, it doesn't matter! You're in WDW!!

thanks for all the great info. we are staying at POP for the 1st time this Sept & are definitely looking forward to it!

We've almost always stayed at the CBR and really like it. But the last two times have been at the POP and it was GREAT. We were there during Presidents Week (really busy) and the only thing that could be seen as a downside was that now and then we had to wait for bus service to the parks.

The CastMembers were great. Check-in was handled well because the desk was fully staffed. And even when the food court was mega-busy, everything ground to a halt when the music was Chubby Checker singing "The Twist". Castmembers dropped what they were doing and got out and danced. Not just kids, either - I'm sure there were several folks who had danced to that record when it was first released. Did a great job, too.

POP isn't for everyone. But it's really pretty efficient for a resort of that size. We were on the north end of the 50s Building and had an interesting view of Illuminations from our rooms. And though we are staying at POFQ on our June trip, there's no doubt in my mind that we'll be staying at POP again. And again.

for us, we love the lakeside path, the turkey dinners on wednesday night and (oddly enough) the view of the unfinished legendary years section - like seeing disney "after the apocalypse"

Everything Pop foodcourt and the store are the best! It's like being in one of the parks.

For us its the bright happy colors. I love the Pop up Jets for the kids. I love ALL the pools! I love looking at all the things from the different decades, its really nostaglic! I too love the music!

I love that for a value it has its own bus with only 1 stop. I love that is pretty small (our last stay had us in a room in the 1980s that couldnt have been ANY farther from everything in the resort :lmao: , but it was still less than a 5 min walk to Everything Pop and less than 5 min if you cut through the parking lot to get to the busses.

Trust me, I have read and read about the Mods. The only 2 that really interest me are CBR and CSR (which we have been at, but never stayed at). They are beutiful, but HUGE! When someone tells me that they drove thier rental car to get to the main pool becuase the walk was too long, it turns me off!

PORFQ is smaller, but I keep looking at the pictures and it really does literally nothing for me at all.

So, I guess for me its eitehr Pop or Deluxe! We are staying at the AKL in May and are looking forward to it..... although I must say, Im just as excited about going to Pop in October!
