It is very sweet, even without the syrup. I found only the outer crust part was slightly crispy. The inside was very soft and moist. It's covered in powdered sugar so you really don't need to add extra syrup to it if you don't want. I've only had it once (it was on my "must try" list from our last visit) because of the amazing things I'd read about it. They are all true. It was great and will probably become a routine part of our future visits.

My memory of the french toast loaf will always bring smiles to our faces. Dh had stayed behind at the hotel that morning as he was feeling sick. I took our girls onto MK to start our morning. Around 10 something we headed to the bakery specifically to try the FTL. We took it over to a bench behind Casey's to eat while we waited for DH to join us (he'd called that he was on his way through the turnstiles right then). As the girls and I were finishing up a bird from hades took a dive at my head! I was given the fright of my life having that thing zoom straight towards me! My girls laughed so hard! A second later DH showed up, too late to see how a bird made his wife nearly jump out of her skin.

I'm telling you, those birds at WDW have an agenda of their own!

The cup is a tall cup with no handle. It has a black tavel lid with places for two straws. The cup itself is a very pale cream with the name Main Street Bakery on it with victorian scroll work around the lettering. No where does it say Disney World.

Often my sons and husband will go to the parks very early and I will just walk down main street by myself and stop at the bakery and eat overlooking the castle. I have done this several times usually at the end of the trip. It is a great way to end a trip.

French Toast Loaf. We always have to have our French Toast Loaf at least a couple of times on every trip. :)

We just got back yesterday and tried the french toast loaf for the first time. It was great. It is crispy on the edges, but very moist in the middle. One piece was enough for 3 of us. Of course we also shared the crumb cake which was great as well. Kids liked the cupcakes.

I agree about the French Toast loaf its awesome. Also FYI you can get any cookie you want and they will make a huge ice cream sandwich out of it so if you don't want choc chip or want to try something different be creative!!

jkmmah Thanks for your very detailed description!! Now I'm hungry!! :teeth: I'll for sure put in on the 'list' of things to try!!

Your bird story is hillarious!!!! I thought stuff like that only happened to me!! :rotfl2:

So it seems that everything is to go....are there tables inside or near the bakery???

Can't wait to try this!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does anyone know if this is considered "snacks" on the DP or CS?
Thanks!

ChrisAlli,
There are tables inside and outside the bakery. We ate inside last year. It was pretty crowded so just got the first table we saw.

Cinderumbrella,

Here is a list of things from MS Bakery that are confirmed snack options on the DDP:

MK
Main Street Bakery:

Frozen strawberry smoothie
Bag of grapes
Fruit Salad $2.99
Box of 2 donuts
Cinnamon rolls
Choc.chip ice cream sandwich
french toast loaf
Blueberry muffin
Cheese danish
Chocolate chip muffin
Apple Charlotte
Strawberry Shortcake
Key Lime Cheesecake
Carrot Cake
Frozen Lattes

I think my DH and I will use 2 snack credits each morning and get a fruit salad and a french toast loaf!!!! I hope we can get the breakfast quiche as a snack credit...that sounds great! Has anyone been able to do this? Or anything savory from MS Bakery w/ snack credit?

:goodvibes

I discovered this place thanks to the disboard on our first trip to WDW. I had the carrot cake and the cinnamon bun and I died and went to heaven. (So did my hips and fat legs!!!!). Last March we went there for breakfast and we had a blueberry muffin, bagel, mini banana loaf and charlotte apple thing. We got everything with our snack credit and it was all under $4.00. We also got drinks seperate. It was excellent and the line up after us was out the door and down the street. We headed there right after the opening ceremony. So if you want to go get there early for breakfast.:yay: :yay: :yay:
