What Do You Like from the Main St. Bakery for Breakfast?

I second the massive cinnamon roll! I really enjoy that!

Let me put it this way:

We go to the Magic Kingdom probably 4 times each trip. Every time we go, we get there first thing in the morning, I head right to the Bakery, and get a cinnamon roll. I LOVE THEM!!!!!!!!

Heck, there are other days I'll go to the MK just to get one for breakfast, then go to whichever park we have scheduled for that day.

The cinnamon roll is the entire reason I refuse to do a character breakfast on Magic Kingdom days.

DH - cinnamon roll
Me - Banana nut bread
DS11 - Chocolate croissant
DS8 - bacon, egg & cheese croissant sand

OMG -- what a treasure trove the Main Street Bakery is. I stopped there with my girlfriends in November '03 for the first time for breakfast. I had often been there later in the day and last thing at night, but never for breakfast before that stop.

What an amazing time we had! We all have very diverse tastes, so while one gal got cereal, the rest of us were loading up on various baked goods. I got a muffin and a banana. I don't know why, but it was just so great to get something ordinary like a banana to go with my ginormous blueberry muffin and coffee. Then one of the girls across the table let me taste her yogurt and granola which was mentioned earlier in this thread -- WOW!!!!! It knocked my socks off!!!!! The cinnamon roll is indeed yummy; the muffins are huge and yummy; the coffee is darned good; but that yogurt and granola thing is incredible! I dream about it sometimes. I can't wait to go back and get it again!

The thing is -- there's fresh fruit mixed into the yogurt, but the granola is crunchy and adds a zing of cinnamon to the mixture. It's just... too good to be healthy.

One caveat: The line when we were there was *very* long, and the guy behind our last person in line was an angry man who kept pushing. Our shortest member finally turned around and said, "Sir, are you all right? Are you feeling lightheaded? Do you think you might faint? We can call paramedics if you think you are going to collapse."

He was very surprised to be confronted so politely, and he said, no, he felt all right. So then she said, "Then do you think you could stop pushing us? It doesn't help. There are still twenty people between us and the front of the line."

The fellow turned 8 shades of red and apologized.

And he stopped pushing.

Tee hee!

All those sweets and my kids choose and LOVED the Quiche!! I can't remember how much though I'm hoping for under 4$!!!

So anything under $4 is a snack on the dining plan? Just making sure...

I heard it was anything under $3.99.

How many of the above yummies are under that in price? Does anyone know where their might be a list of goods sold like a menu for the bakery?

That cherry turnover is making me hungry right now just thinking about it! The yogurt sounds great too! :cool1: Oh it won't be long now!

I've never eaten there :guilty:

But, I will in August

So, what would you guys recommend for me?

Some basic Kath2003-guidelines:

1. I throw up if I eat nuts, so nothing with nuts of any kind in please. This rules out the banana bread, even though I LOVE banana bread.
2. I HATE cooked fruit. This includes jelly. Jelly is fruit which has been chewed by the devil.
3. I also hate cinnamon. We don't really go for cinnamon in the UK, and no, we don't understand you guys' obsession with it ;)
4. I would like something beyond a muffin, cookie or a donut. Something special!
5. I'm not a big ice cream fan, so I think I'll pass on the ice cream cookie sandwich :thumbsup2

What is french toast loaf all about? Sounds very interesting! Is it for one person or something a family could eat?

BRAVO! I love it! Was this one of your children that said this? What an elloquant (sp) and mature and even tempered way to handle it. when I get pushed I usually stand rock still and then slowly lean back on the person or accidentally jab them with an elbow. Hard. I'm not as nice. I'll have to remember this one!

In all the gazillion times I've been to MK, I've never eaten at the Main st bakery! the few times I looked in, the line was so long! Plus, I don't eat sweets for bkfst. Never knew they had other things/

We will be there June 21, that will be my first stop!

Thanks for the info!!!!!

Yeah I know, you guys cover everything in the stuff! Everywhere smells of it! Theme parks, hotels, airports, shops, EVERYWHERE! Seriously, if I could describe my impressions of the USA in one word, it would be "cinnimony" :rotfl:

I am totally the same as you!! I figured cookies and brownies etc but these items mentioned sound awesome. Next trip is just DH and I and since we don't have to worry about that dang Dumbo line (I am usually obsessive/compulsive about getting in that dang line to get it over with and will NOT stop anywhere on the way there that might delay us!!) we will be able to take our time and check this out. That long line kinda scares me though. Does it usually move fairly quickly or should I prepare for a really long wait?
