EDIT: Remembered something I have that many of my neighbors don't. My hearing. I live among a lot of older retirement aged folk (still working) and disabled folk. Lot of them are deaf, which makes interesting yard conversations for the old man behind me that I regularly "talk" to. He's a hoot of an old scraggly man.
I'm only 7 years old compared to them as I started over with just my car, clothes, bike, and tools.
Tools, that's it. I have a lifetime of collecting tools to work on the cars and the house. Never took the car to a mechanic in 20 years and never had someone else work on my house.
I pull in after work and see my neighbor out with his motorcycle tore apart. I check on him and he says it wouldn't start. I look and see he essentially only has a hammer, screw driver, ratchet, and 3 odd-ball sockets for the ratchet. So I open up my shed and it's like a Snap-on truck in there. Grab my tool bag that has a copy of most of the mechanical tools and help him out.
Funny thing is, the first thing I ask is if he has gas for his lawn mower. He looks at me, "No, that's not it..." Threw the tank back on temporarily and threw a splash of gas in it and it fires right up. I put the bike back together for him and told him to take it to the gas station, LOL. He came back 4 hours later after a 100 miles or so ride.
