What do you get someone for Xmas that has everything already

My mom is 66 yrs. old and is the biggest pack rat of all time. She really doesn't need anything but I still feel the need to get her something for xmas. She has all the lotions, candles, she lives by herself so she doesn't cook that much, She eats at her job so she usually doesn't eat dinner. I had pictures taken the other day of my kids and plan on having some matted and framed for her. My brothers and SIL always get her "crap" that she doesn't need. One year my SIL gave her a bedspread for a king size bed and she has a full size bed. I couldn't beleive it. She had gotten it from someone else and she didn't need it so she gave it to my mom as a xmas gift!!!! Any ideas out there?

Do you live nearby? My mom also has everything. For her birthday last year I gave her a "Girls Day Out". I took her to a movie and out to lunch, just the two of us. She really appreciated it and thanked me for not getting her more "junk". I've found Starbucks gift cards to be good too. You can never have enough Cafe Mocha! This Christmas she is getting new floor mats for her car. Not exciting, but it's one thing she could actually use. Good luck!

Does she like sweets? You could get her some chocolate. Or maybe bake her some goodies. If not how about a nice plant for the house. I have a hard time getting my parents gifts too. Seems like they have everything and it doesn't help that they live in Alaska.

Could you do something altruistic like buy her a "share" of the rainforest, or sponsor a week of feeding at an orphanage through Compassion international, or just make a straight donation in her name to a charity that represents her intrests?

One year we got my MIL a family tree. It is engraved with all of our birthstones and birthdates on it. She loved it.

Does she have any hobbies? My mom does creative memories.
Jewery, purses, robes, slippers, perfume, Christmas dishes, glasses or singing do-dads or a new Christmas sweater?

This year I bought my mom a set of luggage (black friday what a great deal), a coffee grinder, creative memories stuff.
My sister will get her a whole bunch of whole bean coffee.
My brother gets her pajamas.
Not sure what my other brother will get her.

I am getting my MIL an electric shaver, the wet/dry one.

my grandparents say they don't need anything, and don't want anything..

What i have been doing lately is grocery store gift certificates.. It is the one place that they really go (grocery store and laundromat, but the laundromat doesn't have gift certificates!)..

My grandparents use them, they do eat, and this helps them income wise (they are on limited income)

He has EVERYTHING and whatever he wants he buys himself. So, I KNOW he likes to EAT so he is getting Resteraunt GIFT Certificates this year! No COOKING for ME!

Last year I gave my mother 3 Gift Certificates from her hair salon. Her hair dresser helped me make them up special for her. My mom, like so many retirees started worrying about money and dropping niceties like that. She loved it so I'm giving them again and adding 2 Gift Certificates from her favorite restaurant so she can treat herself and a friend for lunch or dinner.

For anyone with enough STUFF, buy them an experience. I buy my Dad and his wife attraction tickets each year. One year it was for Biltmore House, then Dollywood, and this year, the Aquarium in Chattanooga.

They need an added incentive of already having tickets to make little trips. They really seem to enjoy it.

Restaurant gift certificates are always good, and if she doesn't have anyone to go with, you can go!

I was going to say gift certificates too. People always seem happy to get them and they can definately be used!! I like giving gift certificates for bookstores, car washes, Michael's or scrapbook stores (if I know the person likes to do crafty type stuff), even Home Depot or Lowe's. Practically everywhere has gift certificates these days!!

I have the same problem with my dad. He's got everything! His apartment is small, so he doesn't need any more decorating type stuff. If I buy him resturant gift cards, he tries to use it to take US out to dinner! I've started going with either gift certificates that only HE can use, like to the golf store, or sponsering an animal at the zoo in his name. He loves that kind of stuff! If you have a zoo nearby, pick out your mom's favorite animal, and sponser it in her name. Maybe a donation to her favorite charity?

If she has so much "stuff", perhaps some type of organizers? Under the bed types, shelves, closet organizer kinda things.
