What do you get for paying at touring plans.com?

I subscribe for the Room Fax service also. I tend to follow Easy for my crowd levels but I do like using TP for the Resort info
And you don't have to subscribe but I've had great luck with their reservation finder also

I signed up ecause it was so highly recommended. There are a ton of 50% coupon codes out there & our travel agent offer a free year subscription, so we decided why not?

I love the lines app & I enjoy the touring plan creator but I mainly use it to input my own touring style & get estimated wait times if I tour using my own plans. I don't print or follow them heavily but its nice to know what to expect ahead of time.

Easywdw kind of does that but only in his recaps of pass day & what wait times were hourly per attraction.

I honestly don't know what the subscription gets you over the free stuff on the site, other than the Lines app. When I first subscribed, the personalized plans were only included in the subscription. Basic plans with no times, just an ordered list, were available in the Unofficial Guide and online. I think this has changed. I think the personalized plans are free, but the premade ones are not. If I am incorrect, someone please correct me. I have been a subscriber since 2012, so I don't really know what you get if you don't subscribe.

I like the feature where you can look at resort maps and you can see actual views from the rooms.

I don't know if it's free or part of subscription, but I like the Fastpass+ availability info that they have each day. I've been checking it on different crowd level days to get an idea of what might be available for a SDFP for our next trip and what/when FPs run out. I also like the individual touring plan feature, not sure if that's part of subscription or not either? I don't follow them to a T, but for our last trip, I felt like it gave me a realistic idea of what I could accomplish and the most efficient route.

Personalized are not free and I don't recall that ever being so.

I beg to differ. I have an account (as in a username and password), but I'm not currently a paying subscriber (subscription lapsed probably a year ago), and I have been creating personalized plans for our next trip for awhile now. That function is completely free.

Edit: That being said I still believe a subscription is totally worth it, and I will be purchasing one next month, as soon as we enter the 12 month window for our next two trips.

The Lines app seems pretty nice. We don't go until June but it has been kind of cool to play with the app now and see what is going on with wait times, lol.

As a first time visitor, I have found the custom touring plans sort of fun to play with. While it is sort of an hour by hour, stop by stop sort of thing it is sort of fun to play around on and get an estimate of how long lines would be at different parts of the

I couldn't actually make a personalized plan until I had a login and password. It wouldn't let me create a login and password unless I paid. So I paid. I actually have been having quite a bit of fun making my plans. I love how I can see at a glance how my day should theoretically go. I have a long way to go but I honestly, as a first time visitor, have found it to be great.

Now I don't expect my plans to go off without a hitch because we do have a large group. So of course I have set it to the slowest possible walking speed and added a few breaks to allow for our inevitable getting behind in the plan. I'm the person in the group who is most likely to..."oh look! a squirrel!!!" And cause the delays, lol. But anyway, since I am such a visual person and most often need a diagram, having it listed in front of my face along with presumed waits and time to get to the next attraction has really helped me visualize what I want to accomplish each day.

Oh and even though my trip isn't until June, I have been playing with the lines app. I can see how it will be great to have while we are there.

I subscribe to TP and love it.. but I don't do our plans down to what attraction we go to at what time. We usually like to just wing it and do what we like whenever. I love the room request fax service they have. I used it in November and it worked out great! I ended up with a room that I requested. I love that they send the fax for you, 5 days before you check-in. I am using that feature this year too, not expecting anything, but it doesn't hurt to use it and see. I also love seeing the crowd predictions for the dates we will be there. It is a really useful site.
I am currently a touringplans subscriber. Tell me about the room request fax service. This Sept we are going back to BC after having a wonderful room in 2014. I'd like to get the same room or at least close to it. But I'm not sure how to go about doing that. (I've heard you SHOULDN'T request specific rooms) Maybe the touringplans request would be of benefit?

For the record, it *is* possible to register on the site (login and password) without buying a purchased membership. And that then allows one to get personalized plans. (You aren't able to base your plans on the premium plans, though, which are part of the subscription service.) The room fax service, as part of what they call the "trip dashboard", *do* require the paid subscription.

It looks like the room view service is available with the free membership. That can be handy.

The FP+ availability feature in the Line app is nice. It will tell you what FP+ times are available for all attractions. It can only tell if there is at least one FP+ available per time, but it's still nice to know if you should even bother trying to get a 4th+ FP+.

It should show up on your dashboard if you have a trip started already on there. I usually give multiple rooms.. at least that is what I did for my Nov 2015 trip and I was given my 2nd room choice, it was awesome!!! I have already set up our fax for this years September trip, at the Beach Club. I requested 3 different rooms and explained why we wanted to request them in the additional notes. 5 days before you check-in, Touring Plans will fax the request for you automatically and send you a confirmation that it has been received. If you have a trip set up on TP's now, look at your dashboard and it should say "Requesting Room" and next to that it says "click to find a room". A map of the resort will come up with every room and you click on the room you'd like to request. You can begin configuring the fax at anytime and save it. Looks like we arrive on the same day at BC! We have 191 days to go too!

Well shoot. I couldn't figure out how to register without paying and it wanted me to log in to create a personalized plan! LOL. Oh well. I do like the app that comes with the subscription though.

Honestly I've realized 90% of line times I'm looking to see how long the top rides are that I've already ridden and feel good I didn't have to wait that long. I guess I plan so much that the rides I'm going to go that aren't at RD or have a FP+ for are low priority rides that it doesn't really matter.

Glad to see I'm not really missing much but not subscribing.

Let me make sure I understand. The FP+ availability listed in the Lines app for "party of 1" is really for "party of 1 or more" and you have to check at a FP+ kiosk to see whether there is availability for your whole party? That's very helpful to me as I was assuming the availability listed was for only one at each listed time.

Thanks! Same check-in day-- haha... hopefully we aren't requesting the same room!
Good to know you can put actual room #'s in the TP request thing. That's what I wasn't sure of. We know the room we had in 2014 and, using an online room layout, have the numbers of the rooms all around it that would be equally desired. So I WILL be using this TP perk for sure!!

Yes, it's for 1 or possibly more. It just looks to see if there is an FP+ at all, which could only mean 1. It is kind of helpful. Granted, things can change quickly during the day. I know from trying to switch a Primeval 4th FP+ to Safari while in the park.

My short answer is:
Sanity.

I'd never take a trip without the lines app and my personalized plan. The room request fax and views from each and every hotel room are the cherry on top.
