What do you feel it will be like for us when WDW opens again using our mobility wheelchairs & scooters?

My favorite things are all of the nightly fireworks and shows and parades. I have been riding fewer attraction rides as I notice the increasing discomfort of some rides shake or bump too much for me.

I truly miss the past Magic Kingdom nightly parade and Disney Hollywood Studio December nightly Christmas Light Streets and other things.

Here are some of the ways that the Disney Parks may utilize as things move forward towards reopening the parks, as well as keeping Guests safe:

• Phased reopening: The reopening process of the parks is being looked at closely, including a gradual reopening and/or partial reopening of certain locations. For example, the opening of retail and dining locations prior to the opening of the theme parks. (This would likely mean something like Disney Springs would reopen first.)
• Physical distancing and capacity measures: Managing Guests in a world where it’s required to have 6ft of space in between will mean that Disney will take a look at queues, restaurants, hotels, ride vehicles and other facilities throughout the park and across the resort. Physical distancing guidelines will be implemented based on guidance from health authorities, such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and appropriate government agencies. This will likely include implementation of Guest capacity measures to comply with state and federal guidelines. Disney is also looking at ways that technology will help out, like with the Play Disney Parks App and through virtual queues at Disneyland and Walt Disney World.
• Cleanliness and sanitization: There will be an increased focus on cleaning and disinfection. Disney is working to determine where that should take place, and the cleaning products and processes that will be utilized.
• Screening and prevention support: Guidance from the government and the medical community regarding enhanced screening procedures and prevention measures will be followed, including those related to personal protective equipment (PPE), such as face coverings. Some measures have already been implemented, like adding hand sanitizers and hand washing stations.
  Cast training: Health and safety is a number one priority. New training will be provided prior to reopening.

Shanghai Disneyland Reopens with Controlled Capacity on May 11

Shanghai, May 6, 2020 – Shanghai Disney Resort today announced that the Shanghai Disneyland theme park will officially reopen to the public on May 11, 2020. The initial park reopening will demonstrate a deliberate approach, drawing on the experience from the successful reopening of Disneytown, Wishing Star Park and Shanghai Disneyland Hotel in early March, and implement enhanced health and safety measures.
During this initial reopening phase, the park will institute new measures and procedures, including opening with limited attendance and required advanced ticketing and reservations, accommodating social distancing in queues, restaurants, ride vehicles and other facilities throughout the park, and implementing increased frequency of sanitization and disinfection.
Ticket sales will be available via the resort’s official online channels and official travel partners’ channels beginning on May 8 at 8:00 a.m., with a limited number of tickets available each day during the initial reopening.
On May 11, the majority of Shanghai Disneyland’s attractions, rides, some shows and shopping and dining locations will resume operations, with controlled attendance. Some interactive attractions and experiences, such as children play areas, and theater shows will remain closed. Guests can check the availability of attractions and entertainment through the resort’s official website and app.
To accommodate social distancing, parades and nighttime spectaculars will also return at a later date. During the initial reopening phase, a special Disney character procession, Mickey and Friends Express, will take place several times daily, and the Enchanted Storybook Castle will come to life with light and music at dusk each day with Evening Magical Moments. Beloved Disney characters will appear in the park in a new way, as they make appearances in each of the themed lands, greeting and welcoming everyone back to Shanghai Disneyland. Close interaction and close-up photos with characters will be suspended during the initial phase of reopening.
The frequency of sanitization measures will be increased in order to augment the standards of cleanliness already in place throughout the park, and hand sanitizers will be available at attractions, restaurant and stores.
The resort looks forward to recognizing and celebrating medical professionals who helped make our reopening possible at an appropriate time in the near future.

Based on the additional measures and procedures, we ask for guest understanding of and compliance with the following requirements when Shanghai Disneyland reopens:*

1. Purchase dated admission tickets for Shanghai Disneyland prior to their arrival, as on-site sales will not be available. Annual Pass holders must make a reservation for their visit date and time through Shanghai Disney Resort’s official online channels before their visit to the park. During this “Advanced Reservation Period,” General Admission tickets for Shanghai Disneyland will not be accepted;**
2. Provide basic personal information for each guest visiting the park, including name, phone number, ID type and ID number via Shanghai Disney Resort’s official online channels after purchasing a ticket and prior to arriving at the resort. A Shanghai Disneyland Reservation QR Code will be provided after the successful submission of the required identification information, and guests will be required to present the code before entering the theme park;
3. Register for the Health QR Code prior to their arrival, which will be required to be presented upon entering any location at Shanghai Disney Resort. Only guests with a green Health QR Code will be allowed to enter the resort;
4. Be prepared to present a China government ID card, or valid travel document, for each guest at the park turnstiles (photos or printed copies will not be accepted);
5. Undergo temperature screening procedures upon arrival; and
6. Wear an approved mask during the entire visit to the resort except when dining.

*These measures will continue to be reviewed as the situation warrants, and may be further adjusted.
**The validity period of a Shanghai Disneyland Annual Pass will be extended for the number of lost days falling between the park’s closure date of January 25, 2020 and the end of the “Advanced Reservation Period.” A Shanghai Disneyland Annual Pass that expired before January 25, 2020 or that was purchased after the end of the “Advanced Reservation Period” will not be extended. The same extension policy will apply to the validity period for General Admission tickets for Shanghai Disneyland. The detailed extension policy, including block-out days, will be communicated with Pass and ticket holders separately.

I have been thinking a LOT about this topic - like so many other folks, I am eager to hear that the Parks are reopening, as it seems like it will be a big step towards a greater recovery for all of us.

I too miss the Main Street Electrical Parade - so much!!! We loved that silly old parade so much, and when it returned to WDW, our family was so happy! I can't count the number of nights that we would slide into MK just in time to watch that parade from in front of the Train Station!

Fireworks (HEA) at MK are, sadly, almost ruined for me now - we have had too many incidents with non-disabled people being stinkers and until something changes, I will probably pass on them. My family knows that they are free to go without me, but I just am no longer comfortable, and the CMs don't have the ability to manage the crowds effectively. I will say that we got to see the new show at Epcot in January, and I would watch that every night! The lighted kites and the jet skis and the whole thing; everyone we were with was surprised at how great it was!

I think the things I might miss the most will be the shows - if they open with no indoor shows (like FEA at HS or the dinner shows at Poly/Ft Wilderness) that will be sad, because those live performers do such an amazing job, show after show, and we really do enjoy them.

When it comes to rides, however, I truly don't know how you reconcile "social distancing" with roller coasters and similar rides. In theory, doesn't the last guy in the row get everyone else's "air"? They can't run rides with just one group of riders on them - so even if they leave every other car empty, don't you at some point travel through someone else's germs (or "droplets" ewwww)?

I have SO many questions, and, of course, right now we don't have near the answers that we want because this is a new, weird virus.

When it comes to overall experiences, I think - and this is just based on our experiences in general at WDW - that probably things will actually change the least for those of us who use mobility devices. I say that only because we are already used to moving a bit more slowly, allowing for more space naturally, and making use of technology to be as efficient as possible.

Most of the folks around here are already wizards at maximizing their use of FP+, and the vast majority of us have learned (either from others, or the hard way) to build that "bubble" that we talk about to help keep mobility device/pedestrian incidents to a minimum. Our pace is already artificially slowed. We are already used to "restrictions" and doing things differently.

And that's a lot of it, right there. When you are DISabled, or "differently abled" or whatever you prefer to cal it, you often have to learn how to do things differently than "normal" people. We have already adopted a mindset that we will need to potentially adapt do things that we enjoy like (fill in the blank: WDW, the museum, the state fair, etc.)

I think that actually puts us a bit ahead in this particular game. Strange, but that's how it seems to me. We are already used to adapting on the fly, changing how we do things, and building a bridge, and getting over it.

I don't take any pleasure or glee from the idea that other folks will find discomfort in the situation - far from it. More than anything, I wish it could just go right back to the way it was before closing.

Crowded, crazy, dysfunctional as all get out, and Magical from start to finish.

Me, too. My next WDW trip is in December again. I was going to schedule a 4-day Disney cruise, but I haven't yet.

Me, too. I've done that, too. When I was in my mobility scooter and when watching from a non-handicap area, I always felt like I could only see straight ahead of me with horse blinders on. Especially when guests were standing on both sides of me. Sitting down I could only see and smell butts like I was three rows back. Even if I backed up my mobility scooter to the curb and turned my seat around, the guest could stand further over the curb and still blocking my view down the street. And even though they were all sitting, always stood up when the parade started. That's why the train station was better.

An interesting video about how Shanghai Disney may instruct their guests on how to prepare to enter their park.

They require advanced registration and a QR-code for the specific date of entering their park. This includes Annual Pass holders.

Wear masks except when dining.

Enter a Health Screening (temperature Check) Point Tent.

They show social distancing painted squares for the queues, but it also showed that it was okay for a group of 3-friends in the video on the same square. They had a tripod on either side reading the temperature of each of the 3-individuals as they walked side by side through the tent. And guests in front and in back as guests walkthrough while tracking each face temperature from both tripods.

They showed what the camera showed as the temperature device tracked each face at the same time in a box with the temperature. I guess it could take a photo of your face too.

The temperature must remain below 37.3 C-degrees.

Then the next section you show your "Health" QR-code from your phone.

Then the next section you enter the Security queue to show your "Reservation" QR-code from your phone. Then proceed to a table to show the contents of your bag.

Then the next section you enter the queue to place your "Government" I.D.-code on a scanner (I guess instead of your thumb) to enter the park per your group.

I think Walt Disney World will keep an eye on what works as they will with Disney Springs with the opening of the non-Disney restaurants and stores.

As someone who has had to wear a mask for years to avoid infection i can tell you what my infections disease doctor explained to me about theme parks. YMMV. It was a big worry for m e as a DVC member who loves WDW. First, I live 800 miles away and have to fly, get DVTs of we try to drive. Doctor said that planes had great air filtration systems and I only need the mask in boarding and in unboarding or while waiting for luggage, the exception was if I was seated next to an obvious sick person. This was all prior to this outbreak. Second, I should wear my masks on busses and trains/monorail. Third, wash my hands, don't touch my face but I was very safe in outdoor spaces WDW included. Lines should have a mask but on the actual rides, coasters, anything moving no need for a mask as risk was so low. When waiting in line to eat or be seated, mask, once seated it's fine to remove.

Personally I can see them skipping rows in coasters and seated rides. My guess is that indoor shows will be gone for a while and when/if outdoor shoes open they will do 6 feet apart every other row. Families will be allowed to stay together. It's all speculation on my part and I'm speaking as an Infectious Disease patient. I suffer a rare complication to a fungus that is rampant in my area. I also have several autoimmune conditions and that combo and treatments have already cost me part of a lung. I've been on a respirator twice and it is no fun. I will continue to be smart about what I do but I will be one of the first people back in the parks once they open.

The more people comply with the restrictions the quicker they will open things up.

Here’s What Visiting Shanghai Disneyland Will Look Like When it Reopens

As excitement builds for the first Disney theme park to reopen after they all closed around the world due to COVID-19, Disney fans are wondering what visiting the parks will look like when they reopen.

Thanks to a news report, we have a look inside Shanghai Disneyland and the procedures and processes put in place to keep guests safe during their visit. Disney Executive Chairman Bob Iger said in an interview that Disney is “studying very carefully what China has been trying to do in terms of their return to normalcy” as it relates to reopening the domestic theme parks. While the following procedures aren’t a guarantee of what we’ll see at Walt Disney World or Disneyland, it’s a peek inside what The Walt Disney Company is already doing at one of their theme parks.

Temperature Checks
This is actually one of the procedures that Iger specifically called out as being a possibility when the parks reopen. Here’s a look at the procedure in place at Shanghai Disneyland.

The process looks to be simple and completely contactless, with a temperature reading displayed on a screen as a guest walks through.

Advanced Reservations
Guests wishing to visit the park will need to buy a date-based ticket or make advance reservations to visit if they’re Annual Passholders. This will ensure a limited capacity every day. Limiting park capacity is something that will be put in place at Walt Disney World when it reopens.

Social Distancing in Queues
Social Distancing has quickly become a common phrase thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, and is something that Shanghai Disneyland is taking seriously. As you can see in the following photos, social distancing will be prominent in queues. Stickers on the ground or even tape marks in the queue will designate a safe distance between groups.

In attraction queues, tape has been placed to designate safe distances and there will be space between switchback areas to ensure guest safety.

Characters and Performers at a Distance
Characters and performers will not interact with guests or even be close to them. They will stay on a parade float for a new character procession called Mickey and Friends Express

Guests will only be able to see characters at a distance.

Social Distancing on Rides
Social Distancing will also be enforced on rides by either spacing guests apart on a ride like a Voyage to the Crystal Grotto, or by leaving a row open between groups like on Pirates of the Caribbean Battle for the Sunken Treasure.

Limiting Restaurant Capacity
To encourage social distancing, restaurants will limit their capacity by closing some tables.

Social Distancing While Shopping
Guests will be reminded to keep space while shopping as well.

All of this is in addition to extra cleaning that Disney will be doing to all of the hard surfaces and more throughout the day.

Again, it’s worth noting that just because Shanghai Disneyland is implementing these measures, it doesn’t guarantee that Walt Disney World or Disneyland will be doing so. That said, Disney will surely be looking to learn from the Shanghai Disneyland opening to implement safety protocols when the domestic theme parks reopen.

An interesting video about how Shanghai Disney may instruct their guests on how to prepare to enter their park.

They require advanced registration and a QR-code for the specific date of entering their park. This includes Annual Pass holders.

Wear masks except when dining.

Enter a Health Screening (temperature Check) Point Tent.

They show social distancing painted squares for the queues, but it also showed that it was okay for a group of 3-friends in the video on the same square. They had a tripod on either side reading the temperature of each of the 3-individuals as they walked side by side through the tent. And guests in front and in back as guests walkthrough while tracking each face temperature from both tripods.

They showed what the camera showed as the temperature device tracked each face at the same time in a box with the temperature. I guess it could take a photo of your face too.

The temperature must remain below 37.3 C-degrees.

Then the next section you show your "Health" QR-code from your phone.

Then the next section you enter the Security queue to show your "Reservation" QR-code from your phone. Then proceed to a table to show the contents of your bag.

Then the next section you enter the queue to place your "Government" I.D.-code on a scanner (I guess instead of your thumb) to enter the park per your group.

However, I am concerned because I'm sure some people will be polite and try very hard to follow the rules and regulations. But, alas, there are always those who don't seem to care. I guess I'll wait and see how things go once they open, but I do miss going there on vacation.

I remember seeing something one time about that; Shanghai literally has a "bible" that Disney Corporate created for them covering everything from paint colors and maintenance schedules through hiring, customer relations, and *everything* about running the Park. Just wondered, because I know that could make a difference; if the local government there had *any* say in how the theme park runs, I think it would be safe to say that it could be a different experience than if Disney controlled the management and daily operations, and rules and operating procedures, like they do in the US.

Yes, I believe the government holds the majority ownership, with Disney holding a minority share. That may well impact many re-opening decisions in Shanghai.

Dear Guests,
As you may have heard at Disney’s Q2 FY20 Earnings Results Webcast, our CEO Bob Chapek announced that Shanghai Disney Resort will begin the phased reopening of Shanghai Disneyland on May 11 – an encouraging sign for Disney parks and retail locations all over the world. After so much time at home, I know many of you are eager to enjoy the magic of a Disney parks visit, and we can’t wait to welcome you back.
I’m fortunate to work with Disney’s extraordinarily talented team of health and safety experts who are some of the most experienced in the industry. Together, with our colleagues in operations, and local health and government authorities, we’re evaluating several new and enhanced safety measures to do our part towards helping us stay well while we work, stay, and play at a Disney resort and a Disney store. I’m also working closely with the US Travel Association on a set of guidelines the travel industry may tailor to their individual businesses to help demonstrate that safety of travelers is a top focus.
To that end, I want to share an update with you about our plans and considerations as we prepare for the reopening of our parks, resorts and stores. At Disney, we’re exploring:

• Phased reopening: We’re looking at all of our locations and how best to begin the reopening process, including a gradual reopening and/or partial reopening of certain locations. For example, the opening of retail and dining locations prior to the opening of our theme parks.
• Physical distancing and capacity measures: As you can imagine, managing guest density in queues, restaurants, hotels, ride vehicles and other facilities throughout the park and across the resort is a major focus, as we implement physical distancing guidelines based on guidance from health authorities, such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and appropriate government agencies. This will likely include implementation of guest capacity measures to comply with state and federal guidelines. We’re also exploring ways to use technology to aid us in these efforts, like with our Play Disney Parks App and through virtual queues at Disneyland and Walt Disney World.
• Cleanliness and sanitization: We’re planning increased cleaning and disinfection, determining where that should take place (for example, in high-traffic areas), and the cleaning products and processes we’ll use.
• Screening and prevention support: We’ll follow guidance from the government and the medical community regarding enhanced screening procedures and prevention measures, including those related to personal protective equipment (PPE), such as face coverings. Some measures, like adding hand sanitizers and hand washing stations across our resorts, have already been implemented.
• Cast training: We’re further emphasizing our strong culture of health and safety amongst our cast members, and will continue to provide new training and reinforcement as we get closer to reopening.

These are just a few examples of the many areas we are developing plans for, so please keep an eye on our online channels, where we’ll provide more details as we confirm and begin to implement our plans. Given the constantly changing global health environment, these practices may evolve as we consider the latest guidance, but we will share more information with you as we look towards reopening.
In the meantime, our focus remains on the health and safety of the entire Disney community – including the wellbeing of the Cast Members who are caring for and securing our parks and resorts during the closure. We have already implemented a number of enhanced health and safety measures, such as increasing the frequency of cleaning and disinfection in work areas, adjusting practices to promote physical distancing, and providing Cast with access to necessary PPE, including face coverings. We continue to learn from these experiences and will carry these lessons into reopening and beyond.
Finally, I want to recognize the medical professionals working to bring care and comfort in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic. We will continue to do what we can to help support the medical community and our local communities during this time.

Some comments from Disney Parks.

I appreciate the efforts that Disney is making to keep there visitors safe and healthy. I believe masks should be a requirement and if visitors are not willing to wear them, they should not be allowed entry. The masks are for people that have the virus from spreading it to others. I am a Florida passholder and miss Disney as much as anyone as it was a weekend playground; however, I know that Disney is doing everything they can to make us safe and trust that they do not do anything halfway and that whatever is implemented will be the absolute best that can be done. Looking forward to getting back to our playground. Thank you.

I am a senior citizen (69), pass holder, and former Disney Cast member. If this was an ordinary day and time, there would be no reason to wear a mask. However, this is not just any ordinary day. We are experiencing a pandemic and for you all that don’t think a mask is necessary, you must not care enough for your fellow man, woman, or child. This protects me from you and you from me. I’m not happy about wearing them either but I care enough about humanity to do so. I cannot visualize a day that I would not be able to enjoy spending time at any Disney Park!

Masks should be required, no exceptions. I will not return to the parks until there are effective therapeutics and/or a vaccine, or wearing masks is required and enforced.

We’re from Florida and already wearing masks in public. Yes, they are steamy and kind of uncomfortable, but we would be happy to wear them if required to get back to WDW again. Are masks perfect for preventing spread of germs? No, but they are better than nothing. I agree with comments about opening first to Florida residents and annual passholders only. There should be additional screening or restrictions on guests coming from COVID-19 hotspots. I agree with the comment about drive-thru goodies in the meantime–could you add the Cat Tail and Wonderland Slushy to the menu? We can’t wait to get back to WDW–whatever the rules are!! We miss you Mickey and all the gang!!

If Disney Character Cast Members can wear heavy headgear or heavy full-body suits, I think I can wear my lightweight face mask over my nose and mouth in empathy to protect others.

The respiratory symptoms of COVID-19 typically appear an average of 5-6 days after exposure, but may appear in as few as 2 days or as long as 14 days after exposure, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Again, thank for the information, Ray! Also, I agree with almost all of the comments (except the one about not wearing a mask). Some great points were made in some of them. Masks are a must, and the least we can do. Even though I will wait a while before going back, I still expect to have to wear a mask, which is fine with me.

Shanghai Disneyland Vice President Provides a Tour of New Safety Measures for Re-Opening

Admission and Entrance
The video is quite lengthy at fifteen minutes in length. It covers safety measures ranging from the moment you enter the park to visiting characters, going on rides, shopping, viewing day shows, and visiting restaurants.

The video begins with Bolstein saying guests would have already gone through temperature screening and they would also have showed their health QR code.

We then see a demonstration of what he describes as a Disney Reservation QR code redemption process. We see a lady with her phone as a Cast Member holding a sign that has a QR code.

From the looks of this clip, this provides you access into the park without having to worry about scanning a ticket.

The next step is for guests to go through security screening.

Bolstein then shows the various markers on the ground to show social distancing guidelines. He makes the point that through studies and observations with guests and they found it easier to tell the guests where not to stand.

Each marker is 1 meter in distance from the next space.

Throughout the park, guests will find Cast Members holding signs reminding guests of social distancing as well as verbally reminding to main social distancing.

The next part of the video is a little confusing because Bolstein again mentions admission into the park, but in this clip he mentions that this is where guests will redeem their park ticket and Government ID upon entry.


You also see a gentleman that is having his bag checked through security.

Character Interactions
We then see that he has entered the actual park and he begins to talk about meeting characters and having that character experience but in a different way as guests will not have an up-close meet and greet.

A small cavalcade with characters aboard will stroll within the park throughout the day for guests to take pictures.

Daytime Performances
Shanghai Disneyland offers the character atmosphere show “Tai Chi with Donald Duck” which will encompass performers in the center and a viewing area of yellow boxes that again are 1 meter apart from one another to create social distancing.

If the squares are full, guests will be invited to come back at a different show time.

Bolstein reassures that “due to the limited numbers of attendees per day he believes everyone will have a chance to see almost everything they want to see.”

In the next clip of the video, we see many yellow boxes in a bigger area for the Golden Fairytale Fanfare performance that occurs in front of the castle.


Food Kiosks and Restaurants
Both food kiosks and restaurants will both have markers on the ground indicating the social distancing measures.

As they do not anticipate having long lines that will be out the door due to limiting numbers of guests, they are already prepared to do so just in case with markers seen outside the restaurants and kiosks.

Many times throughout the video, Bolstein repeats that their number one priority in restaurants is “to maintain social distancing as their number one priority, along with enhancing safety and hygiene inside the restaurant.”

There will be no more than 50% seating capacity in restaurants.

They are also encouraging no-contact payments, but he indicates that for guests who have cash and/or credit cards, guests and the Cast Member are both encouraged to sanitize their hands using the hand sanitizer provided at the register.

Rides
It is no surprise that social distancing will also take place within ride queues as well as once guests are on the actual ride itself. In the video, we are shown guests loading into two different rides which shows that rides will utilize an every other row rule for guests to maintain social distancing.

We also are shown different sanitizer stations that are mounted on the wall. In this particular clip, we see it immediately after exiting the ride.

Shopping
Although Bolstein is shown walking around a merchandise store after exiting a ride, he does mention that Cast Members will be making sure that there are only a certain amount of people within the store.

He then asks in the video if they can go over to the registers (I’m personally wondering if it is to show the plexiglass guards), but the clip then cuts to an outside shot getting ready to enter a restaurant.


Ending Remarks
Bolstein closes the video again emphasizing the importance of insuring limited numbers of guests for social distancing through markers on the ground, utilizing every other row on rides, sanitation wall mounts, and limiting the number of guests in the park.

Tickets for May 11, 2020 became available online on Friday, May, 8th and almost immediately sold out.

Future Indicator of Other Disney Parks
CEO Bob Chapek recently commented that the re-opening process at one theme park may not be the exact replica by which all parks will follow. After watching the video a couple of times, I can’t help to think to myself if this is what the parks will look like when they reopen at Walt Disney World and Disneyland.

I am *not* trying to be flip or silly here - but looking at that information, I am stunned by how long it has to have taken them just to get all of those social distancing "boxes" and markers placed - let alone figuring out everything else.

The temperature checks send my anxiety through the roof because I'm afraid of being falsely-screened and not being allowed in. Those things are notoriously unreliable, especially in warm temperatures (which is frustrating because I don't object to using temperature as a gauge for entry per se, but still). We had tentatively scheduled a September trip before all this started, so I'm watching it closely. If we can, in fact, go but the rumored restrictions are in place, I would be bummed about missing ROL as it didn't exist yet the last time we were in Florida, but that would be the biggest change in our plans so I'm not too worried.

As for the chair aspect...personally I like the idea of a bit more personal space and people not trying to shove us forward so I worry about running into the ankles of folks who aren't paying attention in front of me. But then, I'm not a fireworks person (oy the startle reflex) and MK hasn't had a nighttime parade in awhile, so the proposed changes wouldn't impact my touring plan too much. Buffets were already too difficult to juggle (with the electric chair and my spastic hands and it being difficult to reach items etc.) so we already didn't do those. I am concerned about the mask making me overheat more, though so far it hasn't been a big problem when I run my errands around town. I am curious how they'll handle some things, like buses and DAS passes and such, but otherwise - for my partner and I - the changes don't seem to change too much for our usual trip plans. And honestly...and this may sound bad or strange to people who aren't used to it...but I feel like this is one of those times that having an unpredictable illness has prepared me for things. 17 contingency plans depending on how things are going that day? Check. Needing to change plans at a moment's notice? Yeah, check. A bag full of hand sanitizer, cooling devices, beverages, gloves, and tools? Check and check. If I got as frustrated any time things changed as I've seen some people getting during this pandemic, I would've lost it years ago. The resulting "can't change it, can't do anything about it, roll my eyes and roll with it" attitude has made the emotional side of this surprisingly bearable. So if we go to Disney and have to change an ADR or two, or one park hit capacity so we have to go to another...aight. At least while dealing with unpredictability, there are rides and snacks.
