My current dog eats Beneful, but we are introducing a new puppy on Sunday and the breeder uses Taste of the Wild.

What do your dogs eat?

I don't have a dog, but my friend does and she feeds Wellness. Her dog is immensely healthy with rarely any health issues and has such a shiny coat. Same with her cat. She says Blue Buffalo is just as good.

he eats what I do, but if I dont eat good enough he gets mad at me

My dogs eat a holistic chicken and rice that I order from the Pet Pantry. It is an all natural food and has no fillers.

Wellness is a great food. I started my cat on that but she seems to have a sensitive stomach so now I feed them Halo ( sensitive stomach or something like that). It's available at pet stores and has never been recalled.

My sister feeds her dogs blue buffalo and her cat wellness. She had researched the heck out of dog foods and found that was the best fit for her pups.

Any food you choose. Make sure to check the ingredients list. A lot of them have a bunch of filler that is not good for dogs or cats

Blue Wilderness

We were feeding him Taste of Wild. Then Taste of Wild was recalled, & the place where we buy our dog food quit selling it. So now we feed him Blue Wilderness.

We feed ours Fresh Pet Select. They turn their noses up at anything else. They are spoiled.

I knew Beneful wasn't top of the line, but 9 years ago when I adopted her it was affordable and it wasn't the worst dog food on the market. She's always been in good health, but now that she's aging and I'm older able to afford a "better" dog food, I've wondered if a quality dog food would be better for her in her senior years.

What is ToTW?

ToTW=Taste of the Wild. You mentioned you are getting a dog from a breeder so I'm assuming you're getting a quality purebred puppy...it will greatly benefit from a high quality kibble.

Duhhh, lol. Being a DIS member, I should have picked up on that. :thumbsup2

We feed our dogs Nature's Domain from Costco. It's grain free and made by Diamond Pet Foods, which is the same manufacturer of Taste of the Wild.

We alterntate bags of food between the salmon and turkey kinds.

There was a voluntary recall of the Natures Domain food last Spring due to possible salmonella, but nothing since then and the food we bought at our Costco wasn't affected.

I have thought about trying this brand, but my dogs do so well on the Wellness Core that I'm iffy about switching them.

Beneful is seriously a horrible food full of grain and fillers. http://www.dogfoodadvisor.com/dog-food-reviews/beneful-dog-food-dry/

You should put them both on ToTW.

My dogs eat Wellness Core.

This is absolutely correct. Don't feed your dog this junk.

I was one of those people who thought everyone was nuts spending so much money on dog food, until my baby girl, Maggie, started having knee trouble. The vet told me to just TRY switching food (I tried blue buffalo) and if it didn't change anything then surgery was next.

I humored him.

She went from not being able to run without popping a knee out- to never having it happen again after switching food.

Honestly, 3 years later, hasn't happened once. 3 years ago we thought her puppy years were long gone.

feed them good food!
