I know there have been similar threads about this, but I want to know what do you eat when you stay in a studio. Since there isn’t a stove or oven I thought it would be neat to see how creative we DVC-ers are.
My family keeps it simple. To save money and to keep our trips affordable we usually eat breakfast and lunch in the room and eat out for dinner. For breakfast it has become a tradition that my wife makes her lovely homemade loaf of cinnamon bread. It goes wonderful with tea in the morning for which we bring our own electric kettle for. For lunch we usually have cold cuts or left overs. Of course the little fridge is filled with lots of drinks; everything from fruits boxes to adult bevies.
We don’t use the microwave much except for popcorn. popcorn::
So what do you guys eat while staying in a studio? Give me some great ideas.
Our next trip is in March at the Beach club with that awesome pool and walking distance to EPCOT!

Okay, I pack a whole suit case with just food. A box of cereal, a bag of pita bread, PB&J, oatmeal, lots of dried fruits and nuts. Trader Joes has a great selection of instant meals for making in the microwave. Now, here is where I will loose a lot of you. I always pack powdered milk. I have the perfect size pitcher that makes one packet and fits in the frid. I also bring boxes of the propel mix you add to water bottles. I use to back-pack a lot so, I have the whole getting a lot of bang for the weight thing down.

My clothes are already there when I get to my resort thanks to Owners Locker.

Don't forget that you have a toaster. We bring english muffins, you can bring Thomas' fresh waffles in a package (butter, syrup and jellies are condiments and are free at the beverage stations). We bring cereal and pick up milk in the resort store. We find that we like to have breakfast in the room before we go out (we are early risers) and breakfast places for grab and go in the parks are few and far between.

If we drive, we stop at Publix for coffee (don't like the coffee Disney provides), FF half and half, Milk, Cereal, butter, english muffins or toaster cakes, and a little fruit and maybe even some bakery yummies for treats, so we really just do breakfast in the room. This in and of itself saves a nice penny.

If we don't have transportation to a supermarket, we just pick up a few of the same items in the resort store and deal with the fact that it's more money for less. It still saves on paying for breakfast at a sit down restaurant and I don't want to have to get up and dressed to get some coffee and food at the food court or bakery (BWV), so we prefer having some food in the room.

To be honest, I did forget about the toaster. Duh.
That adds more possibilities.

We do breakfast and some lunches in a studio.

Lunch is easy. Sandwiches (either PB or coldcuts) and fresh fruit and maybe some chip. Microwaveable mac n cheese.

Breakfast has lots of options...
Bacon, eggs and toast/english muffins. We buy the Oscar Mayer premade microwaveable bacon. Can either do scrambled eggs or omelets in the microwave. Also have bought the premade hard boiled/peeled eggs from Publix.

Cereal (hot or cold) and fruit. Hot cereal can be microwaved.

Toasted bagels.

We make good use of the coffee maker. Always throw some beverages in teh fridge.

I usually have a stash of paper plates, plastic baggies etc. in my Owner's locker along with a paring knife, can opener and cork screw.

We usually just do breakfast in the Studios. Don't really do any cooking to speak of - maybe an english muffin in the toaster and that's about it. Sometimes we do heat leftovers that we bring back from one of the restaurants. I always do coffee in the mornings.

DW makes a stew or soup and we warm it up in the microwave; we have that for lunch or dinner depending on where we are eating the other meal each day. For breakfast we usually bring a Mickey Waffle maker or cereal if DW does not feel like cooking that day. We have fruit or other snacks for our afternoon break and evenings after being out all day.

When we are in a studio. we eat breakfast in the room every day. Cereal, fruit, water, juice, V8 etc. We keep our Britta pitcher in the fridge, It lives in our OL.

We know that we save a bunch on breakfast.

I pack a small George Foreman grill. I use it to grill burgers, pork chops, steak and chicken cutlets. I purchase salad and cut up the leftover chicken to make an easy lunch. Microwave vegetables go well with the meat. I've been doing this for about 5 years and it allows us to splurge at certain restaurants.

This summer we'll have our first 7 night stay in a studio. We almost always do breakfasts in the room, and sometimes we do have lunch meat for sandwiches and soup. I don't think we'll do more than that. When checked luggage was commonplace, I would bring my small grill for cheese sandwiches, but it doesn't seem to be worth the effort now.

We just use the studio to have a light breakfast like English Muffins, toast, bagels, etc. We'll also make coffee, tea or hot chocolate. Other than that we enjoy having lunch and dinner at a CS or in a restaurant.

OK - I only read the headline of this thread and the following came to mind...

I don't suggest eating the soap, bedspread, towels or linens in a studio....

:lmao:

Sorry - hopefully a little random humor to make you laugh :rotfl2:

We eat breakfast every day in the room and either bring lunch to the parks or eat in the room. Occasionally, especially on a supermarket day we'll bring a supermarket prepared meal to the room for dinner (Publix has a chicken meal that includes bread and sides). There is usually leftovers fo the next day or two. Here is our Studio supermarket list (some items we bring from home):

Cereal
Milk
Frozen Waffles (maybe)
Frozen BagleBites
Bagels
Bread
Lunch meat
Butter
Cream cheese
Syrup (if waffles)
Cheese for sandwiches
String cheese
Mustard
Salt
Equal
Sugar
Half and half
Penut butter & Jelly combo
Lunchables
Instant oatmeal
Crystal lite
Bottled water
Tuna (maybe)
Mayo (maybe)
Beer

Last time we stayed in a studio, we mainly only did snacks in the room. We liked having the full size coffee pot and did buy coffee, creamer, donuts and Ddil went to Walmart and picked up some bread, lunch meat and even a couple of frozen dinners since DS:littleangel: likes to snack besides regular meals but we ate most B,L,D onsite in the parks or resort

We are staying in a studio again this trip and other than maybe coffee and a few snacks , do not plan on any meals in the room since we opted for the DxDP.
It is nice to have the option of the microwave, toaster and full size coffee pot there "just in case".

This year will be the first time we are staying in a studio with points. But before we owned DVC and paid oop for our vacations, the rooms we stayed in were stocked pretty much the same minus the microwave and toaster. We mostly eat breakfast in our room. Our list:

Toaster Streudels
Bagels
Butter
Breakfast Danish/Muffins
Hot/Cold Cereal
Milk
Coffee
Fresh Fruit-Bananas, Apples, Canned Pineapple in juice for DD
Hot Chocolate
Microwavable popcorn
Various cold drinks
Snacks of your choice

**We don't usually have lunch in our room because by that time we are out and about.

I guess you can say we have the typical "continental" breakfast while we are dressing to hit the parks. If we have a "down" day, for us this is a day planned to spend at the resort relaxing at the pool or whatever, then we might splurge and book a buffet breakfast. Last year we did this at AKL and had a wonderful breakfast at Boma's. Now DD wants to do that again.
