What do you drink at restaurants?

This doesn't happen at standard sit down restaurants but it does happen, in my experience, quite often at counter service restaurants.

Some off the top of my head outside WDW that do this are Lime, movie theaters (which I understand as all their $ comes from concessions), McDonald's.

I'm kind of surprised nobody else has ever experienced this. Oh well sorry to hijack

At WDW - the only time I've gotten a small plastic cup of water is if they have the "do-it-yourself" soda fountains (and honestly, the places I can do it myself are the places I'm most likely to have something other than water). At any QS place that doesn't have the do-it-yourself soda, I've gotten whatever size water I ask for (often times bigger than I've asked for). Last year at Disneyland some places had already prepared small cups of water, yet still went out of their way to get me a bigger size (so my son and I could share and didn't have to carry 2 cups).

My DH and I only drink water at home. So at restaurants, even fast food, we order tap water. At sit down restaurants we order "A glass of water with lemon" . We squeeze it into the water. It feels fancy and tastes so refreshing. And it's free!

I drink tap water at home so I usually order tap water when we eat out. I love it because it is usually ice cold because it comes out of the soda machine plus they add the ice to it! I use to order unsweet iced tea, but I got tired of paying $3 for bad iced tea. If its a place I know has really good iced tea I will order it, but usually its tap water.

We've found that it depends on the location at WDW. Most places will give us a large cup of ice water but some won't. When we asked for water at the Outpost in Epcot they would only give us a small. We explained that most other places give a large but the refused and said it was because the large cups cost more. So instead of 2 large cups we got 4 small cups to fill our water bottles. I'm not sure if that saved Disney any money though.
