If you wear a good pair of running shoes at the parks, what do you do with them on rides like Kali, etc? Do you take a second pair or what? :boat:

Isn't there a space in the middle of the raft that you can put your shoes, purse, wallet, etc. to keep them dry? It's been awhile since I went on Kali because I'm not crazy about walking around with wet shorts.

We wear sport sandals, the sort made for river rafting. More comfortable than sneakers in the heat, and will take any water ride or thunderstorm you throw at them.

Yes, there is a compartment but I don't think it stays too dry. Also, you can't go barefoot on Kali.

We also wear sports sandals. I found a really pair of comfortable Nike sandals that I was able to wear at all parks for the entire day.

I just make sure I wear flip flops or bring a pair if i'm going on Kali or to the water parks. They have them right now at Old Navy for $3.50/pr. I take a few pairs to WDW and then just toss them before we come home. -Steph

If you only have your running shoes don't take them off in the queue. The Disney people will fuss at you. Loosen the laces while you're in line and take them off after you've gotten buckled in. Just hurry because if there are any very expensive camera people in you boat they will get very mad if you fool around and their cameras get wet.

ps The Universal people will fuss at you too.

The only wet ride I am ever concerned with is Kali River Rapids, then then I change from my tennis shoes to flip flops before getting in line and put the tennis shoes and socks in the middle covered area so they don't get wet. We have never had anything get wet from being in the middle... it actually works very well!:cool1:

You can put your shoes in the storage bin in the center and they will stay dry.

However, I just keep my feet up off the floor by using the footrest in the ride. I have never gone my shoes too wet after I discovered and started using the footrest.

I use that too, but I still like to wear the flip flops, that way if my feet are hot I can choose to get them wet.. or not!

Bring a pair of flip flops in your backpack, put them on before you get in line and throw your sneaks in your backpack......there's nothing worse then walking around the rest of the day with wet socks and shoes!!!!!!!!!! :sad2:
