What do you do with your medals?

These boxes I bought at at Michaels. There are actually two backings to them. The velvet backing the medal sits on and the backing to the whole frame itself that has the hooks on it to hang from the wall. I have the ribbons squished between the two backgrounds. The problem I have is that the Disney medals are so heavy it is hard to keep them in chronological order without a box being too heavy on one side or the other.

you don't happen to know the brand name or maybe even the dimensions for the boxes do you? the one was kinda cheap i think - the velvet was the same back as to where the hooks were for the wall. i really like how yours came out tho!

It says on it Instant Shadow Box and down the bottom MCS Industries.

Thanks Lily! Sorry the picture is so large. I hung them next to my treadmill for motivation and I'll be adding one more medal on Oct. 18th!

I use a curtain rod for my medals as well. Looks pretty good in the hallway. Just had to extend it.:cool1:

For the pins, I found a shadow box with Mickey's on the frame at the World of Disney store. It hangs above the curtain rod.

Given I basically stole Pat/Wendy/various others' idea, I had to resurrect this thread and post the results now that our new house is finally under control and my medals aren't just in a pile on the floor.

Just don't ask me how much in entry fees is hanging there. :scared1:

Matt,

You and Cheryl need to reinforce that ceiling!:lmao:

holy cow thats a lot of medals!

We use our medals as our lanyards for pin trading while we're at Disney when we're there (we each make one pin trading lanyard per trip as our souvenier to remember the trip by, whether we were in a race or not)

Then we hang them up on our wall using one of the 3M hooks (that can be removed later without damaging the wall) - I think we use the large ones since some of the medals can be heavy!

I have several shadow boxes some of my medals are in the rest right now hang from the boxes. They are supposed to be in our workout room walls- but they are still not hung. I'll try to post some photos later.

Wow there are some great ideas and alot of medals around here!

Wow Matt! That is amazing! I love it! Congrats on the new house you bought to display those well earned medals. Great shadowbox there!

I have two magnetic curtain rods that hang on the door to my craft room and I have all of my medals hanging from the rods. One rod is JUST Disney medals and the other is everything else.

When I open the door, everything jangles like a massive windchime. No sneaking in or out that door!

Hey, I just got the idea from someone else too, Matt, but it was so long ago, I don't remember who. :rotfl: Awesome job!
