What do you do with your larger purchase in the park?

I only just found out that resort delivery of merchandise is not a thing right now. I will be buying quite a few things at Epcot and then a light saber and droid at HS. Do I have to carry it all with me, including artwork from the FotA? The lockers won't be large enough. Any recommendations?

Edit:

You could pay to have your purchases shipped to your home.

As far as I know, you can still have purchases taken to the front gate for pick up as you leave the park later in the day.

Otherwise, you could pay to have your purchases shipped to your home.
Front pickup was only available for the holiday season, its not anymore.
The only available front of park right now is If you purchase more than $150 in art from festival of the arts at epcot

Will you have a car? If so, perhaps consider driving yourself instead of using Disney transportation, allowing you to take things out to your car during the day if needed.

With the lightsaber and droid, I'd say make your reservations as late in the day as possible. The lightsaber does come with a thing that you can sling over your back, but I'm glad I only had to carry it for the last few hours of the day.

Do you have a car?

We drove to HS. After lunch, DH took our droids out to the car. You can also purchase a backpack for them. And honestly, it's fun to listen to them interact with other droids and in GE. So, we wanted to experience some of that.

DD bought a lightsaber prior to our trip. She actually purchased a holster so she could attach it to her bag. She carried it around the entire day! You definitely want night pictures with those!

We are doing the lightsaber build, but I didn’t think we’d be stuck with them all day. Ugh. Now I’m rethinking it.

Yes, that's a good suggestion, later build, as there is some fun photo ops with them at night. It may have changed with covid but my daughter actually went back for ours. Or for other purchases plan for a meal back at hotel & drop off purchases before going back to parks.

The lightsaber comes with a carrying bag, and you can buy an (expensive) backpack for the droid or bring your own sachel for it. We did both and it didn't really bother us--in fact I was surprised how easy it was to bring them on rides with us. But our appointments were around 3/4pm so we didn't have that long to carry them.

The lightsaber isn’t bad to carry for a couple hours. The droid is a PAIN to carry in the free box. But if you pay for the droid backpack, or bring a backpack with you to carry it, it’s not bad then as they aren’t heavy, just bulky. A droid, without packaging, would fit in a locker.

We’re booked for 2pm. Three sabers and 5 of us so we can take turns carrying I suppose. We did droids last time (pre-covid) for our younger two and got the back packs for them to carry them because they wanted to keep them.

OK, quick update. We changed over to the Yacht club so we were a little closer. I had already made our reservations for early in the day. I managed to get a RotR boarding group as we were walking into Savi's but the estimated time was 4 hours later. When we left Savi's, we just headed back to the room to drop stuff off and hit the pool. I will be honest, we bought lots of stuff at Epcot and had we not been staying so close, we just wouldn't have bothered. It seems like a bad thing to cut, but I understand everything is difficult right now.

Can you ship them home from Savi’s? Is it possible to take them out into GE for some photos and the return to Savi’s to shop them? Has anyone taken the light saber on rides?

we took them on Rise. Our boarding group got called right before our Savi time so we did the sabers and then went on Rise afterwards. We had three and got tired of holding them quickly. They’re just so long! That was day 1 of 2 at Studios, so We ended up going back to our resort to swim after we did rise so we wouldn’t have to keep carrying them.
