What do you do with your balloon...

... if you don't have a stroller?

I've always wanted a Mickey balloon, but I have no idea what to do with it while riding rides, and I am a ride person. Last trip hubby was like "let's get you a balloon", and I declined because I didn't know what to do with it.

Suggestions / experiences?

I get them for my grands on the way back to the resort and then just keep them in my room til we go home.

FYI if you are staying at AKL Balloons are not allowed in the rooms it will be held at the front desk.

We’ve often forgotten our balloons (were around $20 each) at AKL bell services. I would suggest just deflate and put in your bag (if flying). I would take a pair of small scissors if you want to cut the bottom tied section. We usually just keep the weight as a souvenir now.

The 50th balloons look really cool, so we would probably bring them back. We have had our DD’s birthday ballon from CRT stolen from our stroller (only string left). Keep your receipt. Buy at the end of day (We usually buy at park closing).

Our last trip I bought mine on the way out of the park (after breakfast/ride/shop, taking a break mid day before MVMCP) and took it back to our condo.

We bought ours at the end of our first day and kept it in the room all week; we also left it behind rather than keep it as a souvenir. As an aside, we stayed at Kidani Village and I didn't realize until the very last day that we weren't supposed to have it in the room... no one said anything at all to us, and I can't even remember how I found out. I'll blame COVID staffing; it was last October.

On our girls’ first trip to WDW when they were 4 and 6 years old, they wanted balloons very badly. We bought them and had a stroller, so that was great each day. On the final day of the trip, we told them we needed to find a family with 2 kids who was just checking in, and give them away (because we were flying home and could not take the balloons). That is a lot to ask of a 4 and 6 year old, but they got excited about it once we explained it to them. We were staying at BLT, but we walked over to the Contemporary where people were checking in. We found a family with two small kids, and let our girls gift them to the kids. I’m sure my kids (now 14 and 16) don’t even remember that, but for me, it was a perfect Disney pixie dust, pay it forward, moment.

I agree that picking up the balloons as you leave the park is best. Although, we did pickup some balloons at DS also and those I just carried around since we were not eating after, just going into a few more shops. The fun part this last time was that my sister ended up with 5 balloons by the end of the trip and we were driving home. So, I had to figure out a way to put in the back seat and keep them low enough to see out the back window and the side. Those things lasted forever. Even now, 3 months later, one is still slightly inflated. 3 of them should be able to easily be reinflated. I need to get a new helium tank and blow them back up for her.
