I never know what to do with my old calendars. :confused3 I like the pictures so I keep thinking that I should save them and frame them eventually but that never happens. They just end up in storage because I can't throw them away either. Any creative ideas or should I just chuck them?

I just chuck them now. When I was a kid, I was a bit more creative though lol. My parents wedding anniversary is in January, so for their gift one year I took the previous year's calendar and made a scrapbook with the pages (I think it was a Nature's Beauty calendar or something) and wrote a long poem in the book about the pictures. That's just one idea. :)

I save all my calendars. I have a box of them. :thumbsup2

I started because my dd was very sick at birth and had heart surgery and I had every medical detail written down.

I needed to refer to my calendars for dates.

Later I realized my parents do not remember squat about my childhood, dates, etc...so I thought hey, I will keep the calendars to show the kids.

It has been really fun. My dd's are 16 and 11 and when they ask about something I can drag out a calendar.:yay:

I tend to save mine.
But, if you like them only because of the pictures, scan the pictures into your computer. Then you can recycle the paper and get it out of your house. :)

They stay on the wall, and I put a new calendar over it. I just noticed this actually.

Currently on my wall, I have three calendars dating back to '06.

Now that I think about it, I'm just gonna go throw them away.

I currently collect old "landscape" calendars - anything with pictures of places on it. They make great geography classroom resources!

Otherwise it goes in the recycling.

This is exactly what I do and I started for similar reasons!

Thanks for the suggestions. I don't actually write anything on the wall calendars so they aren't worth saving for memory purposes. I'm still going to have to think about this.

I transfer information from the old one to the new one then chuck the old one.

No need to have anymore useless crap around the house than there already is.

I used to keep them. (I write things on them sometimes too). Now I throw them out. I am downsizing and getting rid of stuff I used to hang on to forever....
I have too much CRAP. :rotfl:

The one that hangs in my nice, wooden holder in the family room that has beautiful pictures I end up throwing away. I used to save them, thinking I would frame some of them but never did so now I just toss them.

The kitchen calendar I like to keep because it is almost like a diary with all our stuff written on it. Plus I keep track of my hours worked and tips (I'm a waitress) on the kitchen calendar so I like to keep them for that reason too.

I have matted and framed some pictures from calendars and even some greeting cards. I have them hanging in my laundry room. Colorful. Vibrant. Great pick me up for a room dedicated to work. You wouldn't know they were from calendars and cards. :upsidedow

I've used some calendars (the back of them) for scrap paper. I've got one beside my computer to jot down my to do list, recipes, and books I want to read. Stuff like that.

We keep some of them just because we write things down about what we do during the year. I've never kept any just for the pictures tho.

As another poster said, I save our main wall calendar because it is like our diary. The others I pitch.

:confused3
Years ago, I was more creative (college years)now with two homes and kids, working..........my creative juices are limited to posting on disboards.........that's addictive enough for me!!!!:rotfl:

I send them in with the other recycling. They are recycleable (boy that doesn't llok spelled right! )

I usually chuck them, unless DD sees a pic she just has to save. She'll put the pics in a scrapbook or on her corkboard.

The one from last year though (2006) that we just took down I will probably keep because it has our puppy in it. I also ordered the one for this year, so I guess it will be another keeper. We bought one from church as well that will have to be a keeper, it has many pics of our DD's in it.
