We are taking our first trip (with our babies) to DW late September and I'm wondering what you do to prepare for your trip? I have seen some really cute ideas and I'm looking for more! One that really stood out was decorating envelopes and putting the mousekeepers tip in it. Anyone else have any useful, fun tips for a new Disney World momma??? :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsboy: THANKS!!

p.s. I am so excited about our first trip that I am obsessed with all things Disney! The disboards help to satisfy my DW craving!!!! I'm addicted to this site! :flower:

We are going to buy glowsticks and things at the dollar store before we go, so we have them instead of paying a fotune for some at Disney. Same thing..*almost* and I think it will keep our dd happy. Small idea..but i just wanted to say..i know what you are saying with the addicted to the boards thing! lol Every night when i put my dd to bed now i am on the boards searching for new ideas..and trying to keep my disney sprit alive until Dec!!

Have a fun trip.

Aside from obsessive planning and making my color-coded iteniery (yes, I have OCD for Disney) I do special things with my kids to build the excitement for our trip. We visit our local Disney store every couple of weeks. I get them several new t-shirts to wear for the trip. We go to the $ store to buy glow sticks, stickers, activity books and other little treats for their backpacks they take on the plane. We have family movie nights with some of the old classic Disney flicks. I write letters to my kids (from the characters) saying how happy they are that they are coming to visit soon, etc... usually a letter for each of them every two weeks for about two months prior to our trip (they LOVE this).

About one month before our vacation, I change the kids token system chore chart/allowance to include disney dollars. They earn and save disney dollars for our upcoming trip. This gets them really excited and teaches them the value of saving money.

Originally when planning our trip we were going to stay onsite, so I think it would be fun to make hershey kiss roses to give to the cms at check in and to the mousekeepers. I would have involved the kids helping to make them and let them give them out to the cms. We might still do this but it's not the same staying offsite. We have always been fortunate to have friendly cms so I thought it would be nice to share a little magic with them too! :wizard:

We made a countdown calendar about two months out and my older kids would take turns marking off days. I would check out the dollar store every so often or clearance racks at Target for items I would need so we weren't spending a ton of money on supplies right before we left. We also ordered t-shirts from zazzle. They have lots of Disney characters (even the new Cuties) and you can add phrases and names to the shirts too.

Other than that, I was pretty much on this site every waking moment or annoying my family and friends talking about it!

Thank you for the replies! I'm glad to see I'm not the only one suffering from DWOCD!!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

And I am loving the ideas :flower:
