PERHAPS THE cm'S ARE HELPFUL TO THE KIDS BUT TO THE GROWNUPS, i FOUND THEM USELESS. wE GOT SEPARATED FROM OUR TWO OLDET - RIGHT AT THAT REALLY CONFUSING HILL COMING UP FROM THE (oops) entrance to The railroad and something else (over by Splash Mountain) My oldest is autistic and my second oldest was 6 at the time. I think we went around opposite sides of a little island and poof they were gone. It was the scariest moment! I immediately went to one CM, who told me to go find a security guard. Hysterically I explained the situation, that my oldest was autistic and I needed not to leave the area. She continued to be of no assistance. I then ran over to the CM at the railroad entrance who did the exact same thing. I asked if they could radio somehow to get a security guard and I was told I would have to go find one myself, as they could not radio, nor leave their post. Meanwhile my husband was running around trying to find them, and within probably 5 minutes he was back with them. The Cm's were no help - actually less than no help, as my husband came back with my children and I (crying by now and FURIOUS they would not help) she suggested I would not have lost my children if I kept a better eye on them.AAAAHHHHH! I wanted to throttle her. How many people lose sight of their child for 5 seconds? AND expect that IF there were an emergency someone would actually at least be able to radio security! Had I been alone with them - what would I have done?I had 2 other little ones, no help from CM, and should not be leaving the area. It was horrible. I am very careful with my little ones, and they spent most of the time in the strollers for that reason, we just were walking from Splash Mountain down that hill (or up I do nt remember) and I was looking at the map. That was it! A coiple seconds is all it takes. I can not imagine what help a CM would even be to a child. What would they do - probably just stand there and try to hold onto the child. I do not mean to scare anyone - but that was our reality - CM did nothing. 2 CMs actually.
So my thoughts are if not in stroller or arms, holding hands is necessary. There are little things that are more like double bracelets if you do not like the harness.
