What do you do to childproof your room?

glad to hear he took to the twin bed easily. That is exactly what i was thinking of doing, but then again I would rather keep her in her crib as long as i can. She did fit fine in her play yard at home so i am planning on bringing ours and buying a play yard mattress pad and having it sent to the resort. She should be out easily too, i'd hope. She always walks everywhere so i dont know if couping her up in a stroller through out the day will make her less worn out or not. I am picturing us going through the magic kingdom without a stroller, keeping it for the larger parks though.. we'll see when we get there.

You can request a pack n play if you are staying in a Disney resort if you want to save yourself the hassle of bringing one. Last year I just brought my own pack n play sheets and put them n the borrowed pack n play.

As for a stroller, you can try to go without one, but there is no way I would do any park without a stroller with a 2.5 year old. I think the heat just really wears them down, and I like putting him in it to get places faster and so he doesn't get mixed up in the crowds somewhere.

We have visited WDW three times a year since our kids were 2 1/2 (DD) and 9 months (DS). For the first several years we took outlet covers with us just in case they did something while we weren't watching. We did learn to check under everything (edges of bed, couch, curtains, etc.) as we've found left over cheerios and other previously edible food items that mousekeeping missed. Staying in hotels in general on a regular basis we've also learned to put the phone out of reach, pick up the pens, and any other item that is within or close to within reach of the kids. It's amazing how fast they find the pens and decide to start writing on stuff. We tried the crib thing but that didn't work for us so no way to really keep they locked.
