We decided against ap’s Because we’re not sure we’ll come back next year. What should we do? Lol

Here are things we have done over the years on our non-Disney or partial-Disney days. These aren't relevant for all since different ages and tastes will have different interests and needs, but you didn't say anything about size and ages of your party.

Legoland when the boys were young
Museum of Natural History and/or California Science Center in LA - haven't headed in the LA direction for many years now because we aren't patient enough to deal with the traffic
Six Flags Magic Mountain if you are willing to deal with the traffic. We tend to hit this on our way down so we only have to go back through LA traffic for the trip home.
Discovery Museum in Santa Ana
Knott's Berry Farm, especially if during the holidays (Knott's Merry Farm)
A lot of hotel time the time we stayed onsite - exploring the grounds, using the pool, etc.
Movie, meal, shopping in Downtown Disney - really just a half-day of activity for us
College tours now that the boys are getting to that age

Which beach?

Forgot to add everyone. Special needs 2 & 3 yo in tow. We’ll rent a car. They do well in the car.
We've done Huntington and Newport and enjoyed both. In August it was just me and my DD9 and we went to Huntington Beach and had lunch at Ruby's Diner at the end of the pier. It was fun!

With a 2 and 3 year old, then I would suggest the Discovery Museum in Santa Ana if looking for an indoor activity. It has lots of hands-on activities and a lot of space to move around in if you have kids that need to roam some. Strollers work well in there too if you need or prefer to go that route.

We like to do our Disney days together, and then we drive down to the San Diego area for the rest of our trip. We lounge at the beach (nice after going full steam at Disney), and do things like the San Diego Safari Park, the San Diego Zoo etc.

Knott's is a lot of bang for your buck and a five minute drive down the road.
I’d probably get and AP and go to Disneyland. Otherwise no more parks. Don’t kneo if I mentioned but we have just one day off. The other day off we’ll be at wondercon. I think we’ll do a beach day. Maybe try some off site food.

We like to do Knott's on our travel day to Anaheim. It's relatively inexpensive and a few hours there covers a lot of rides. End the night with Knott's Fried Chicken dinner and you are fueled up for the main attraction in the morning. :earsboy:

49 dollars for Knott's Merry Christmas when you buy online. And they remodeled the restaurant.

Of course, most of us would rather not have any :) but if you come for a week you have to unless you want to go for APs. Sure wih they still sold longer tickets!

My husband loves to go to the beach and isn’t a huge Disney fan-he went to college and life guarded down there so we always have to get him some beach time. We have loved Lego land and the San Diego zoo as well.
