What do you do if...?

We just bought into AKV and I am going to book two trips with the SSR bonus points, but I am 1 point shy of another night. I know I can't borrow any points, but can I rent just 1 point? Would anyone be willing to do that and also would member services allow me to rent 1 point to complete a night? Thanks for any info.

MS cannot rent you any points.

If you can find another member to transfer you the additional point you need, that would work.

You only other options are to rearrange your trip to use less points or pay cash for one night. You can't mix points and cash for the same night, but if you book a cash night through MS, you can mix point nights and cash nights on the same trip (so you don't have to move).

We haven't signed and turned in our contract yet and was wondering if we should just up our points. Do you think it is smarter to add 10 points to the contract or wait and do a 25 point add on? Also, can you only do add ons in 25 pt increments such as 25, 50, etc?

An add-on can be any amount over 25 points if paying cach or credit card, 50 points if financing through DVC.

It's nice to have a little extra cushion so you don't end up 1 or 2 points short for the trip(s) you normally take.

My advice is to just add 10 more now. But you'll still probably want to add on later, anyway.

The minimum is 25 points. If you aren't finished with the buying process and are still in the back out period, you can change your mind and just change the number of points. That starts the process all over again, so any ressies made would be lost.
