We'll be driving :cool1: depending on how things play out, we may be arriving in Disney/Orlando before 7am! Has anyone else arrived that early? Do you try to check into your resort? I wouldn't expect it to be ready.. We're not doing a park that day. Our arrival day will just consist of DTD, exploring our resort and other resorts, maybe mini golf?

I'm just concerned if we arrive at like, 5am we won't know what to do!

Suggestions? haha

just leave later! or if that's not negotiable, park at the polynesian and go onto the beach they have behind the pool. if i'm correct you'll be able to see the sunrise over the castle. i don't know which way the beach points but even if the sun rises in another direction it's still a great place to be for the sunrise. hardly anyone is there and you can splash around in the water if you want. downtown disney opens around 10 i think. if you have kids with you be prepared to spend at dtd. the second they hit the toy store they'll go crazy. it's a great shopping/eating place, but spending all day there can get expensive so beware. you could occupy yourselves with a movie or cirque du soleil show, which would probably be less expensive than spending 2 hours in the store. and the movies have an arcade or a dine-in feature if you want to be served. it's a cool experience. also, depending on which hotel you're staying at, it probably has some cool amenity or a pool where you can leave your bags at the front and hang by the pool until your room is ready. there's no shortage of things to do! hope this helped :)

Add another day on to your tickets and do a park! It really does not cost much to add a day on if you already have a few days ticket. We have checked into CSR about 7:00am. Our room was ready but of course you could not count on that. You can go get breakfast somewhere pretty early too. Your resort can store your luggage but room could be mid-afternoon before it is ready. DTD tends to open later than the parks. Will you have driven all night to get there? If so you may want to rethink arrival plans as you could be very tired and no where to rent for many hours.

We drive every year also and arrive at the same time you are :) We usually go to Golden Corral for breakfast, and take our time there. They have tons of them in the kissemmee area (I believe they open at 6 or 6:30 am). Then we usually go to the outlets or dtd to just walk around a bit until we can check in :)

Stop at Ihop or someplace for breakfast before check in.
If you are driving straight through and arriving that early, by the time you get here exhaustion will be setting in. I would leave the day earlier, spend a night and just get there a normal time. Once you are that exhausted it really takes time to recoup. It would be not be fun to sleep the entire first day away, when you finally get a room to crash in. A set up for grumpy, sleepy, snoozy, snorey.....
Have fun what ever you do.

you should have them make a note on your travel reservations of your early arrival time. that still won't guarantee your room will be ready, but should give you better chances.

You won't be able to check in at your resort until about 6:30 am.

There not much to do at DTD until 11:00. The mini gold courses don't open until 10:00.

I would add another day to my tickets and go to a park.

We always arrive before 7 am. You can check into the resort around 6 or 6:30. We check in, have breakfast, unload our bags if the room is ready, and go to a park. I cannot sleep in a car, which means i have been up 24 hours or so when we arrive; everyone else slept most of the night. We take a nap after lunch.

I would stop somewhere for Breakfast, hit Wal-Mart for items you might need in the room, soda, water, snacks. I would go ahead and gas up the car now, so that's one less thing you have to do later on in the trip. I would try to check in, I have gotten lucky and checked in at 7:30 am before. Have items for the pool easy to get to. You might want to see a movie at DTD, or ride the monorail and get off at each resort and check it out.

I would check out adding another days park tickets but only if its not a lot of extra cash.

Have a fun time.

I second that--staying overnight someplace and arriving that first day later. I would be so exhausted that I wouldn't have fun that day anyway.

In May 2011 we arrived just like at around 7am at POR and we were able to check in and to our biggest surprise, our room was ready! We had driven 27 straight hours. It was just easier for us to travel that way with 3 kids. The trips seemed shorter for them as they fell asleep early in the car and only woke up really close to it. Never hurts to go check in but I think you need to check in after 7am but no guarantees your room will be ready but you never know.

We usually get into town early but we drive an RV, so we can take a nap if need be. Once we get to the Orlando area we head to Cracker Barrel and then to Walmart to get some groceries and cheap Disney themed things. By that time we can head to Fort Wilderness and check in or park the RV and take a snooze!

Am I allowed to go to like, the Poly for example even though i'm not staying there? And tell the guard that I want to see if there's tables for breakfast at Ohana or somethin?

Sure. Just tell the guard that you want to see the resort.

You could go to your resort, and check in - whether the room is ready or not. Then I would get on a bus to DTD and then switch to a bus to the Poly, or grab a bus to MK or Epcot and get on the monorail and head over to the Poly. This way you aren't having to drive, let someone else do the driving. I would want to walk around a bit after all that driving. You might want to try for Breakfast ressie at one of the monorail resorts, then checkout the hotels and then head back to the room for a nap.

What time do the busses/monorail start running though?

So, can I just go to the Poly at like 5am, and be like, I want to see the resort/see The sunrise at the beach? And they won't mind?
