What do you do if you arrive at the resort before check in time?

We plan to arrive at the Contemporary by 8:00 am Friday, Dec. 6 so we can take advantage of a whole day in the parks. My parents live about 3 hours away. We have arrived like this in the past, but didn't stay on site. Can we park at CR and then use transportation to get to the park we want to go to? Do we go into the hotel and tell them we are already there? Or do we just take a midday break near 3 pm and then check in. Thanks for the help!!

Check in as soon as you arrive. You can get your resort ID and resort parking pass at that time. If your room is not ready, you will be given a telephone number to call to get your room number. (You won't get your actual room number until the room is ready for you). As soon as you have your resort ID, you can head for the parks!

Enjoy your trip!

You can also have them store your luggage. :)

We did what Carol posted last week. We checked in at 1:00 & the room we wanted wasn't ready so we got our "room passes" & headed to the World Showcase for a few hours. So I would park your car, check in, store your bags and go HAVE FUN!!!!

we just did this at CR last weekend. We left our bags in the car, checked in then headed for the parks. I asked if a tower upgrade was possible and got one at no charge!

We will be going to the CR next week, ressies in the tower. Just curious ,what would a"tower upgrade" be?

I just wanted to add to the original posters question a bit ........

We will be arriving at our resort about 1pm and also face the chance of our room not being ready. I know that they will store our luggage for us, and that we can then go do something .

When the room is ready, even if we are not back, will they automatically take our luggage to our room?Or will we have to call for it when we get back later?

Also, we are planning on letting our boys take backpacks on the plane with a few toys, (gameboys etc). Can we leave them with our luggage to be stored untill our room is ready?

Thanks,Chris

To answer the above, if you go to check in and your room isnt ready, check you bags at the belldesk. When you can get to you your room, go up empty handed, call the bell desk and have your luggage sent up. I tip $2-5 depending on how many pcs you have.

TooBoyz4us, You can definately leave backpacks and other odds and ends with your luggage, we have done this at Poly and BWI when we checked out early in morning and went to parks. They assign a # to your set of belongings and slap stickers on all of them! Since we were able both trips to check in early we never had to store luggage on that end of the trip so I can't answer your ? about automatically taking your luggage up to your room.

"Tower upgrade" meaning we had wing reservations. We were in for just two nights so she said they could put us in the tower.
