Just curious about what everone does for presents when on a christmas cruise. We are thinking about booking a cruise around christmas and my thought is the cruise is your christmas present. It would seem weird not having any presents though...What does everyone else do?

We are going on the 4 day wonder and get back Dec. 23rd. My thoughts on having Christmas is that the cruise is our present, but obviously we will still get DD something...my idea is to do a nice stocking and one small gift(under $20). Lord knows she gets ENOUGH from the extended family that she won't even notice that we won't be getting her much. Her birthday is also the end of Nov. so we get a double wammy! ;) But we have told her the cruise is part of her birthday too...no big party like usual, just something small at the house.

We were on the 10 Night this past Christmas, and some people brought presents. Our kids are 13 and 11, so we only brought stockings to hang for them, with some jewelry for DD and some Disney pins for DS.

We celebrated the rest of our Christmas with family after we got home. Like Madisonsmom, I'd have to say that the kids get so much stuff anyway, they didn't even care that there were only a few gifts in their stockings. They were truly thrilled with being on the cruise, and getting t-shirts and souvenirs in the ports.

As a teenager, i truly appreciated the cruise as my present. I was on the 10-day christmas cruise of '04. But DM and DStepF bought me some small presents. They were all under $50 so i am talking small. It was fun knowing I got the ship for 10 days as a present.

When are you going? We're doing the 3 Land/4 Cruise December 8th. Even though it's early I was thinking of doing some presents for the kids (2 & 5) since we'll be in the middle of a Christmas wonderland. We're planning on going to MVMCP so how can you not do Christmas the next day. :jumping1:

Kuffam - We are thinking about 06' or possibly 07'. We have two cruises coming up that are about 6mths apart so talking dh into 06' might take some doing on my part. He loves to cruise as much as I do, it is just getting over the initial sticker shock. :faint:

We were not on the ship for Christmas but for our 15th anniversary. what DH did was buy me a piece of Fenton Art Glass here at home and took a picture of it. He used our new digital camera, took the memory card to Wally World, blah, blah, blah, and then put the picture in a really nice card that he gave to me on our anniversary. This may not work for younger kids but our DS's 10 and 13 thought it was funny. OK, I am a bit of a snoop :teeth: and we all knew my "gift" was in the luggage. Nearly drove me nuts and the 3 "boys" enjoyed watching me squirm pirate:

Hope the idea helps someone :flower:

IF..you decide to do gifts...mail them to ship ahead of time.

Have a great time !!!

I AGREE WITH BETTMOM.

I WOULD SHOP NOW FOR SMALL GIFTS WRAP THEM & PUT THEM IN A BOX.
"OPERATION CHRISTMAS"

I DO HAVE THE PORT'S ADDRESS, OR YOU CAN CALL DISNEY FOR THE ADDRESS.

I MAILED MINE WITH "FEDEX GROUND" I THINK ONE WEEK BEFORE I LEFT.
DON'T MAIL IT UNTIL YOU KNOW YOUR STATE ROOM #. IT SHOULD BE ON THE PACKAGE ALONG WITH YOUR SHIP & FULL NAME

WHEN I SAILED LAST NOV, I MAILED A PACKAGE DOWN FROM JERSEY TO THE PORT. IT WAS ACTUALLY, IN THE ROOM BEFORE MY SUITCASE.

YOU CAN FIND OUT WHERE THERE IS A FEDEX GROUND IN ORLANDO, & MAIL IT BACK HOME, OR WHAT I DID, WAS MAIL MY PACKAGE AT ORLANDO AIRPORT. THERE IS A POST OFFICE IN THE AIRPORT.

HOPE THIS HELPS :flower:
