What do you do for breakfast when rope drop is 8AM?

I'm trying to figure out how to handle breakfasts on those days when rope drop is at 8am. I feel like we need to leave the resort by about 7ish to make 8am rope drop. That means that nothing is really open for breakfast and, even if there was, I'd never get everyone out by 6am for breakfast.

I hate to use the first hour of park opening eating breakfast...

I thought about (for MK) walking over to Chef Mickey's around 10:30, but doesn't that take an extra hour out of your day in addition to breakfast?

Thoughts?

Not sure if the breakfast is for adults or kids, but we always bring ours from home and eat it on the way. We go during the holiday time when RD is 7am!!! I pack 2 packages of bagels and 2 boxes of cereal bars in my bag from home (did Green Grocer one year, but with only 2 kids, it wasn't worth the delivery charge). POFQ doesn't sell little cream cheese packs, but they always just give them to me. We make coffee in the room and then the kids have the bagels and cereal bars while waiting for bus or RD. We also do the DDP and almost always have extra fruit or milk from the day before, so we add those too. It makes sense time wise for us--we eat an early lunch and this is just to tide us over. Good luck!

We never take park time for breakfast. I bring Pop Tarts and Fig Newtons from home (they seem to travel well) and we will eat while waiting for the bus, or a little later in the morning when we take a little break. These things fit easily into our small backpack.

If we're on the DDP, there always seem to be muffins (can be used as a snack or dessert)leftover to eat in the mornings. You could get fruit the day before, too.

We usually bring stuff for breakfast. The little cereal boxes, pop tarts, little muffins, honey buns, etc. I also bring some Sunny D in the small bottles, water, soda, and a few other things that I can't remember.

This is our 2nd year going to Disney and we are again having Garden grocer deliver some breakfast items to our room. We have 3 kids...2 teens and a 10 yr old. It's just easier. We buy the individual cereals, 1/2 gallon milk, poptarts, breakfast bars. Just easy stuff we can eat while getting ready. On last years trip we did do a couple of the character breakfasts but didn't want to do that again on this years trip.

We keep cereal bars/pop tarts in the room.We eat those ,hop the bus and then have an early CS lunch

Cereal in the room for us. DH gets up early and gets showered and goes to food court for his coffee - picks up a couple milks and maybe a couple muffins to split.

While I'm in the shower the kids eat at the table in our room.

Takes us maybe a total of 40 minutes or so to have everyone wake up - eat and ready to go!

We normally eat something quick on the way out the door for EMH mornings. Then, if we want, I get an ADR for breakfast in the park at about 10:30 or so. We treat it as a late breakfast/early lunch. Then, we get a snack midday and eat a regular dinner later on.

It takes less than 10 mins to get to CR from MK. A meal at Chef Mickey's will take about an hour or so. BUT...I always think of it as eating while seeing characters. If you do that, you can cut back on time spent in character greeting lines.

We don't usually allow junk food for breakfast, but on vacation we make an exception. We'll take Pop Tarts, granola bars, mini boxes of cereal, and before we leave for our trip I might make up a few batches of muffins to take with us. There's also a breakfast trail mix that travels well.

Multigrain Cheerios
Dried cherry berry blend
Quaker Oatmeal Squares (brown sugar or cinnamon)
Dark Chocolate M&Ms
Peanuts

Mix, and put in ziplock baggies. Just grab one and go.

We have always done this as well....though with the cost of baggage these days (we fly down), we're going to explore having the Garden Grocer deliver instead.

Instant oatmeal (heat up water in the coffee pot) and a piece of fruit I purchased from the food court the night before.

Then stop and have a couple of snacks during the day.

Pop Tarts, Clif Bars, cereal bars and we usually eat it at the bus stop.

:thumbsup2

Thanks, y'all. I think I'm secretly bugged by the fact that we'll be doing DxDP and I want to be sure to get my money's worth. LOL!

We don't do big breakfasts. Usually some cereal or a granola bar or some fruit.

We're on the DxDP for part of our trip this year (split stay) and also were on it part of our stay two years ago (also split stay.)

We don't use TS for breakfast. I'm sure it would be different a couple days here and there if we had kids, but we don't!

We usually do a regular TS for lunch, then a Signature (2 credit meal) for dinner. Works great for us!

Maybe do snack credits for the mornings when you're doing rope drop. Go to any food court and grab some muffins, cinnamon rolls, cereal, parfaits, etc. and use it the following morning.

If you want to do a TS restaurant, you could also do a later breakfast in the parks. Go for rope drop, ride rides the first hour and fill up on fp's for later, then go to breakfast.

Just for example, you could hit MK for rope drop, ride rides in Fantasyland, grab fp's for one of the mountains and make it to a breakfast at Crystal Palace at 10:00.

We bring simple stuff for breakfast. Cereal, already cooked bacon, muffins, fruit.

It really helps since it takes forever for 4 of us to get ready with only 1 bathroom.

While 1 is in the shower, another doing hair ect, the other 2 can be eating.
