What do you do, before you leave?

Hi everyone

We are off in a few days YEAH!

Want I want to know is........ Does anyone have a routine? lol

I've just realised I do!

1. Get hair cut and coloured
2. Start the fake tan!
3. Have legs waxed and pedicure (I like girlie things!)
4. Pack case , unpack it then re pack it adding more things.
5. Take my Dollars out and sniff them, hmmm that American smell.
6. Pack things in my case that I know I won't wear, but think "well, just incase!" and never flipping wear them!

I think I do pretty much all the same things that you do Sarah !!

Only thing I don't do is the fake tan. I have a lovely manicure and pedicure then go and buy lots of nail things in Walgreens

Yep I do a lot of the same! I definitely get my hair coloured, then put on the fake tan. I'm not going for over 3 months but have already had a good sniff of my dollars!

I can see a male/female divide here.
I do just about nothing. Only thing I really do is charge up and pack the electrical stuff, 2 Laptops, Camcorder, Digi SLR, Digi compact, underwater cam, PDA with satnav, 3 mobiles, 2 Laptops, Gameboy, MP3 player.
Other thing is check all documents are in order.

I think the cases pack themselves, they must do, Ive never done them.

I usually work right up to leaving for airport, has been known for DW to drive up and drag me out of the shop. I am not as bad as I used to be, I now try close the business down the day before we fly.

My house has to be spotless before I go away, clean bedding the lot! then I start on the clean me aproach, my hairdresser laughs when I make an appointment as she knows it means I'm off in a few days. then the rest is like yours, all fake tan and pedicures

I have to get my eyebrows shaped, shave my legs, pack clothes after trying them all on, charge up my Ipod and check my tickets a 100 times. I always have a long bath the night before.

Well, I am in the countdown mode as well here. 7 Days to go. I like to get the house sparkling clean before we go away because I want to come home to the nice clean house and relax after all the hustle and bustle of vacation (I never seem to go on relaxing vacations). Might go get nails and toes done. Hope everyone gets to their list and has a great time on vacation. Robin

Get my hair done a dew days before we go and then I cut DH's hair for him. We both clean the house as we have housesitters for the cats. Both DH and I pack our own bags

Don't need to worry about cleaning the house, we have a cleaner. A week before I go get my hair cut and coloured and also all my waxing done and I get a pedicure as well. Both of us pack our own bags. Nice meal the night before and a bottle of champagne then we're ready for the off

1 havent got that much hair to cut
2 not that much of a suun worshiper so not woried about a tan
3 yea right would scream the place down
4 i just cary them down and back up then down
5 Not too worryied about dolars have nationwide cc and debit card for there good rate
6i know some of my things will be missing as there will be plenty of things DW will remove for her stuff

We will turn back before we leave the streat to make sure everything is turned of(thinking of installing a firemans switch so we dont have to open door)

Countdown for me now too. So started on the exfoliating and the moisturising. Getting haircut next Wednesday. Not too well just now though - got sinusitus and a horrible viral cough, but been to Doctor and have antibiotics now so hoping to be well for holiday. Hubby is Driving Instructor so he will be givving lessons up to the last minute All our clothes in nice ironed pile ready for packing. Bought the self tan for white legs and arms

Im on the holiday countdown as well.

Had hair done, been waxed today, been going on the sunbed the last eight weeks.

Started to clean the house from top to bottom (DH done our bedroom today)

DH sorts out cameras, video camera, I-Pods.

Ive done a little packing,doing the rest on Saturday.

Going to church on Sunday morning, then off to Gatwick on Sunday after lunch.

I'm on countdown too. Had my cut and colour today. Waxing booked for late next week. I will give the house a good spring clean next week too although I don't know why as I'm going away with my friends so DH and the kids will still be home to mess things up

Good question! I've usually done everything in the week leading up to D-Day, including packing! I like as much done as soon as I can, it makes me feel like the holiday has already started, even though it hasn't

I'm usually working up until the day before we leave, so when I get home that night, it's usually shower, pack the last essentials and then go to bed! Mum and sister are usually up later than me! I am the one however that makes sure all the electricals are together with the correct cables/plug adapters and what not. This year I have a whole load more to add to my technology pile - laptop, camera, video camera! Yay

Three weeks to go and I get my haircut tomorrow (early I know but only chance in next three weeks as DH is home for Bank holiday to have girls). Packing list is done and DH has double checked it for me I am at home full time so everything is down to me, including electricals. I have already put aside toiletries, girls summer clothes, toys/games for plane etc in huge storage box.
I will probably shut of a room downstairs for cases and hand luggage and pack the whole week leading up with a mad rush to do all the
Eyebrows shaped and eyelashes tinted three days before, same for fake tan.
Get eldest DD haircut a couple of days before (little tiddler is having hers done for the first time at MK whilst we're there ) Then it's just double check EVERYTHING.
The day before we go is my MIL b'day and she has said I can leave the girls there for a few hours to finish off and clean the house
Then we're off

• Washing - 1 week before
• Cleaning & packing - 2 days before (so nothing can wreck my manicure!)
• Charging up electricals - 2 days before
• Waxing, manicure & pedicure - 1 day before

• Has everything been done? - day of travel

I refuse to cook the night before so whether it's a meal out or a takeaway there's no washing up left either.

Late to bed as there's no way I can sleep and we ALWAYS spend hours the nigt before chatting about how fabulous this holida is going to be

Reading this thread it is amazing how we all seem to do the same thing rushing around before we go - my DH wonders whether I will relax when I get there - but of course I do
