Just wondering what others do. Do you take it easy the day of and the day after - seems like MNSSHP would be a late night? With only so many days at disney it seems hard to work in 2 easy days. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

The day of, we usually sleep in late, order room service and just chill!
Sometimes we might use this morning to take advantage of a Character Breakfast. I book the latest available that morning.
It's great being able to just relax and enjoy it without rushing through to get to a park!

If it's warm enough we might go to the pool, and if it's not we usually let the kids play in the arcade for awhile, or rent boats.

Around 3:30 or so we head on over to MK for the rest of the afternoon and the party.

The next day, we usually sleep in again, then head over to our park of choice around 11:00am or so.

I usually have ADR's for a sit down lunch, so we do that first to kind of ease into the day.

We've been doing it that way for years, and it works great!

We do what Brier Rose does- the day of the party, we sleep in, toodle around the resort pool, have a nice leisurely lunch, etc. We always try to get to the MK right around 4- 4:30, then have an early dinner before the party starts. Then, it's party time!! We usually stay til midnight.

The day after the party, it varies. In 2005, DD and I got up early and DD did the Pirate Cruise (I sat around in the GF lobby and just vegged out with a magazine). DH slept in and lounged around the pool. Then we met up around noon at Blizzard Beach. This fall, we are going to sleep in just a bit and plan on arriving at Epcot at 10am or so. We will do a few things at Epcot and then just a few things at MGM with a break inbetween, a nice TS dinner, and Fantasmic in the pm. Overall, a slower day than normal.

I guess we are the oddballs here because my family does not take it easy for the day before going to MNSSHP. We do our park touring just like nornal (at one of the parks for opening), except we cut our day short around 1pm or 2pm and head back to the resort to take a quick nap (maybe a half hour), shower, then change into our costumes and we are at MK between 4-5pm for the party. We go all the way til midnight (and our kids are 15, 13 & 2). The next morning we make it a point to sleep in, but once we are up the following day, we go about business as usual...we don't sacrifice really anything to do MNSSHP-except sleeping late that next day. I don't know...it really goes according to what your family is used to or can handle. My kids are so excited to be at Disney that it is a rare occasion when they are too tired for the fun. Me and DH are just like the kids...too much energy! :dance3:

Well, this is our first MNSSHP, and we have this planned:

Day of: Husband goes to RPRE at 8am, son does Pirate Adventure 9:30 - 11:30 Daughter and me do girl stuff while they are gone. We all grab lunch and then head to room for a nap. Up at 3 and into costumes, MK by 4 with party tics. Tony's Town Square @ 6:05 for dinner. Party till midnight!!:cool1:

Next day, sleep in and hit parks by 11 (hopefully)

It's not yet tested so I hope it works!!

We usually have a golf or pool day then have dinner at CG then off to the party!

Thanks for all the ideas. The day prior to MNSSHP we're going to Seaworld so I think we'll sleep in the day of MNSSHP and hang out by the pool. Then be ready to go to MK by 4. The day after which is our last full day at Disney I scheduled a late seating at Ohana's breakfast & then I thought we'd go to a themepark or DTD. Maybe I'll schedule Ohana's for the day of MNSSHP too and then decide what we which one we want to go to when we're down there.

Thanks again!

We only take it easy (later start) on the day after.

The day of we'll do another park like maybe AK since it's a half day park for us anyway.

We leave whatever park by 2:00p at the latest, probably a bit earlier.

We head back to the resort and relax in the room or swim for a bit. Then we get ready and head to MK for a 5:30p ADR.

The next morning we take it easy but we still do something by 10 or 11 am.

Have fun planning!
