What do you carry into the parks?

I am preparing to purchase a bag to carry into the parks -- probably a baggallini on the recommendation of many others here. But as I think about it, I am trying to figure out how large a bag I will actually need? We are staying at Old Key West, and we are on the Disney Dining Plan. My kids are 9 and 17 so there isn't any need to carry things like diapers, etc.

So my question is ... what do you carry into the parks? Please tell me what you bring into the parks on a daily basis so that I can evaluate what size/type bag I need to purchase.

Our trip is 11/22/08 - 11/28/08. I can hardly wait!!!!!!

we took...

autograph books, mister fans (which were on their own lanyard anyway so not in a bag), spray sunblock, camcorder and shades for the adults- everything else in the bags was for the under 5s in our party. However when we go back again I'll take spare shirt & shorts for everyone into AK for after kali river rapids as I got absolutely DROWNED- you know when you see people filing off and 4 out of 5 are a bit wet and one is so wet they may well have leapt in? I was the leaping girl!

I bring 6 water bottles, 2 juice boxes, packets of crystal lite, chapstick, camera, bandaids, sunglasses, couple cheap ponchos, cards and cash. I think you can get away with a small fanny pack because I throw the bottles and juice boxes in the bottom of a stroller.

I have carried just a small fanny pack for years, but I have noticed I only put cash/cards/sunglasses in it. I carried around bandaids and bottles and u name it for years and never used them so I'm going to start traveling light. AND I am tired of standing in that line to have it searched getting into the parks. So this year I am just using a LLBean wallet that goes around your neck, it just has pockets for my room/dining card, credit card, i.d, cash etc..
I always carry my camera in my pocket anyway, my only concern is my sunglasses, maybe one of those things that lets them hang around my neck?
I say PACK LIGHT!!

You should have plenty of room with the baggalini. Mine was able to hold my wallet, phone, lip balm, sunglasses, sunscreen, tissues, travel wipes, bandaids, Neosporin, Advil, autograph books (3), spare undies for 2 kids, keys, water bottle, camera and few snacks/juice boxes. Your kids are old enough that they can carry their own water bottles and stuff. I agree that you want to pack light. I had no trouble fitting the baggalini with me on all the rides and it was not overly heavy so I didn't mind carrying it all day. Have fun! Only a few weeks to go! :cool1:

I have'nt been there in 8 years so I never even thought about the fact that your bag would need to be searched. Thanks for the reminder.

We had a bag similar to the baggalini and we brought: dollar store ponchos (two for one dollar)---they are good for he Khali Rapids at AK, wipes, hand sanitizer, autograph book, pen, money, gum, bandaids, Advil, sunglasses, sunscreen, small snacks, keys and I had no problem fitting everything in it. Have a great trip! :goodvibes
