What do you carry into the parks?

I hate carrying stuff, I hate carrying bags but..... I should have been a boyscout because I hate it if I am not prepared!!!! Working on finding a bag that DF will be willing to carry. We don't have kids yet so we don't need much.

Nada!!!! I have a very small wallet that has my credit card, room card and park pass.
If I take my camera, it's small enough to go into my pocket. That's it.

A good thing to note about all of the parks is, they all have lockers so in case you don't wanna deal with carrying what you brought, that's an option, too. I think every ride should have a compartment to hold your belongings safely with you. I am in awe at all of the people who park their strollers full of bags of merchandise, camcorders, cameras, etc. and leave them unattended while they go on a ride!!! YIKES!!! And some people put their back packs and camera bags down while they are on a ride then come off and retrieve them. YIKES!! :scared:

I bring, in a small Disney backpack:
-small first aid kit, containing: bandages, blister bandages, hand sanitizer, tweezer, lip balm, tissues, wet wipes, SPF wipes, Shout wipes, and insect repellent wipes
-camera and extra film
-bottled water and Crystal Light To Go packs
-small towel for drying off seats, sitting on at parades, etc
-cash, tickets, and driver's license
-rain gear: Dollar store ponchos and umbrellas
-sunglasses and hats for me and DD
-autograph book and fat pens
-daily itinerary cards with ADRs, general schedules, etc (I am a planner!)

Wow!!! It seems like a lot, now that I write it all down.

Oh my gosh - at D/MGM we were coming out of 50's Prime Time Diner after eating lunch and saw a wheelchair (personal, not rental) LOCKED to the fence with a bike chain and it had a BIG High dollar camera sitting in the seat of the chair (facing the walkway!) not secured at all! We took it to the 50's podium and then left a note for the owners rubberbanded on the wheelchair letting them know where it was. Less honest people would have just found themselves a new beautiful digital camera. :sad2:

This has been very helpfull! The travel size first aid kit is a great idea and we will carry one with us on our trip. I can't remember where I read this but at the end of the day spray athletes foot spray on your feet even if you don't get athletes foot I hear it helps reduce the swelling of your feet and allows your feet to recover faster for the next day. I don't know if there is any truth to this but it may be worth a shot. Anyone else heard of this? :thumbsup2  :thumbsup2

i take me and a camera,
so here's a question how can you enjoy the parks [rides/shows] carrying around heavy backpacks and i've seen some people dragging around coolers full of stuff, don't that wear you out and what do you do with it at rides and shows ?
A small Disney Fanny Pack, thats what I use for camera....however, now I have downgraded to one of those Passport things you put around your neck. It holds the room key, ID, cash and credit cards. :thumbsup2 (Might still need the fanny pack though). :confused3

I could not have lived w/o my tide to go it was great I used it everyday on me or someone in the family. As we sang na na na hay hay good bye. :rotfl2:

I do have a backpack cooler that I carry juice boxes and water for the kids-- that way if they get thirsty at an inconvenient time-- its no problem. Plus, they don't like soda. The cooler can be heavy, but we have a stroller, so unless we're going on a ride, we just stick it on top or underneath the stroller.

My husband carries a backpack with pull ups, wipes, change of clothes for boys, rain jackets, hand sanitizer (my 3yo has a thing with trying to stick his hand in garbage cans-- very odd), chapstick-- I think that's about it. Some snacks if their hungry when we can't find anything they want. We can also usually fit this backpack on the big double stroller as well, so not a big deal.

room keys, tickets, pin lanyard... and a definately must is the spray fans and visors/hats which really make the heat more bearable

edit: and you cant forget the ponchos

As little as possible. If it doesn't fit in my pocket, I don't need it. I can always use my room key to charge anything that I forgot if I REALLY NEED it. Of course parents of little kids need a few more things but don't get carried away. Your child will survive!

I am planning on having a small bag on me with a few wipes, 1 diaper, park tickets, camera, camcorder and money. Under my stroller will go the rest of the diapers, wipes, clothes, a towel, sunblock, ponchos, water bottles and snacks.

If you got kids, spare underwear, socks, ziplock baggie. My DD, then 9, had to go #2 really bad and didn't make it. I had to throw her underwear away and she went underwearless for the rest of the day. Thankfully it wasn't to long till we went home. That way if the "mess" isn't too bad you can put it in the baggie, gross I know. But then again, underwear is fairly cheap.

Video Camera only if I am in the mood & by day 2 I stop bringing it.

On my solo trips to The World I carry only items which I can put into my cargo shorts easily. Like a thin plastic raincoat, sometimes a small folding umbrella, a billfold with my cards, a sheet of paper with my personal itinerary and meal conformation numbers, a pair of sunglasses, and a floppy hat with a brim to block the sun or rain.

I like to have my hands free, and not have to carry anything.
