What do you carry in your back/fannypack & stroller

this is good for me to think about too LOL! We are traveling with a 4 year old and a 2 year old.

Backpack: Brita water bottles, juice boxes(our dd can only have white cranberry combo juices which are hard to come by!) 10 diapers/day change of clothes for both kids, sunscreen, disposable changing pads, disposable bibs, diaper cream, goldfish crackers and pretzels, baby wipes. We pack everything into ziplocs so the bags are easy to search at security and there's not a lot of loose little stuff we can never find.

Camera Bag: Cameras, lens cleaning wipes, chapstick, tissues. extra camera batteries.

camera
cell phone
Brita bottle
laminated park maps from The Passporter
(with touring plan on back)
lip balm
travel size sunscreen
wet ones
antibacterial gel
travel pouch for passes, money, room cards
change of clothes for kids packed in gallon ziploc
tiny (3 in. square) first aid kit with bandaids, antiseptic wipes, moleskin, tylenol
extra ziplocs
snacks for kids

I use ziplocs for everything! You just can't have enough of them. My backpack is really a camera bag so it has the padded slots for camera equipment. My camera fits in the middle slot and stays protected. I line one of the other slots with a gallon size ziploc bag and slip my Brita bottle into it. The ziploc adds extra protection from leaks.

I pack everything in ziplocs too. I even make up "diaper kits" for the diaper bag. Makes it MUCH easier at change time. I put a couple of wipes in a sandwich sized ziplock and put that and a diaper in a gallon sized one. That way at change time whoever is changing our 2 year old can just grap one of those and zip into the restroom. If the diaper is a stinky one, you can put it in the gallon sized bag to toss so you don't make the bathroom unbearable! I make a "change of clothes kit" too where I have the wipes in a baggie, diaper and change of clothes in a big ziploc.

In addition:

-a travel pack thing of wipes
-the bottle toppers with straws (great for our kids who want to each hold a water bottle...keeps them from tipping it and spilling it while trying to drink)
-pen-light flashlights for DS 4 who doesn't like dark
-snacks (usually individually wrapped things like fruit snacks, bags of cheez-its, those individual pringles packs)
-camera, extra battery for camera
-sunscreen, sunglasses etc.
-cell phone
- a towel (usually one of the "dry your hands towel" size) for wiping off wet seats or wetting to wipe hands that are so sticky a baby wipe won't do it!
-antibacterial wipes and gell
-bandaids etc.

If it's during rainy season, I usually grab a towel from the pool area and toss it in the basket of the stroller. It comes in quite handy if it gets rainy. We can use it to dry off or can fold it and put it in the seat if the stroller seat gets wet. Even on non rainy days it has come in handy doing things like draping over a sleeping toddler in a VERY airconditioned attraction or putting it over the canopy of the stroller to make it darker for a sleeping little one. We do always make sure to return it to the "dirty towel bin" at the pool on our way back for the night.

DH got me a new medium sized cloth back pack that I can keep all we need for a day in the parks. I am able to put both our cameras in it, snacks, my wallet, lip balm, tini size sunscreen, alka seltzer packs, Tylenol, tickets, room key, tini size Purel, my compact, pen/small pad, and some souveniers. I'm excited about using it because it's so light and I know I won't get exhausted wearing it.

On days when we're not in the parks I'll use my fanny pack for Tylenol, Alka Seltzer packs, my credit card/cash, my compact, room key, tini size Purell, tini size sunscreen, a pen and a very small pad...that's about it.

Changing pad, diapers, wipes, sippy cup with water, change of clothhes, Balmex, sunscreen, anti-bacterial gel, small snack for older daughter, camera, cell phone, hairbrush, money, cards, park hoppers, sunglasses, moleskin/bandaids, change of clothes for baby, baby food, if needed.... what am I forgetting? Index card with that day's priority seating numbers written in a Sharpie, and probably my daughter's aurograph book as she pawns stuff like this on me. :earsboy:

This is a good thread-- I'm finalizing my "before the trip" shopping list and this is reminding me of what I need. Oh yeah, gotta find bodyglide for dh.
