Do you bring your own shampoos and conditioners? Soaps? Hair dryers? What about blankets? (We're driving and I'm a little icked out by hotel comforters. :snooty: ) What do you bring from home and what hotel items do you use?

As a matter of fact I shippied my box down today!:cheer2: I shipped soap, shampoo & conditioner, clorox wipes, lotion, etc. I also shipped t-shoes & jeans to wear home. We don't want to check any bags (even though non-stop) so by shipping down extras + liquids we'll just have carryons. It only cost 14.50 using UPS for 20 lb box. I use their sheets, but I take the comforter off the bed. I use the clorox wipes on sink, toilet, tub, dresser & table tops + anything else I feel needs it. Not that they don't clean it, but I have checked into room POR and mousekeeping changed sheets & made beds, but that was all. All the toiletry items & trash from previous guest had not been removed/cleaned. I called and asked them to re-clean the room. (which they did). Now I bring my wipes and go over it all.

I bring soap for my husband- he is sensitive to the soap that disney offers. I also bring my own shampoo, shower gel, and hair dryer. I have thick hair and the hair dryer that the resort provides would take me a year to dry my hair. I also bring miscellaneous things like:

Aspirin, band-aids, Toothpicks, Dental Floss, Toothbrushes and toothpaste, toiletries, etc...

We drive so we bring tons of stuff. I bring my pillow, toothpaste, little shampoos and stuff like that. But we also brought DVD player, movies, tons of food, water and beer. :) We like to do most breakfasts and sometimes even dinner in our room so we brought things like juice boxes, yogurts, granola bars, waffles, goldfish, turkey and bread. We had a studio so we used their toaster, but this time I think I'll even bring a little $10 toaster so my kids can have waffles and cinnamon toast on the mornings we don't eat out! One time I had a buy one get one free coupon for M&M's so I packed them and brought them into the park - that way when the kids wanted a treat I didn't have to buy a Mickey Pop every time - a handful of M&M's and they were happy!

We bring our own shampoos and conditioner but use their soap and hair dryer. (although it is your typical hotel hair dryer so may need something more powerful)
We don't bring blankets or anything like that. We also use their soap.
The less I have to drag with me the better.

BUT... I always bring clorox wipes!!!!!

I bring shampoo, soap, etc. (but my dh uses theirs). I always take my own pillow. Other than that, we use what they have - hairdryer, towels, sheets, blankets, whatever. I am not a "germ-o-phobe." LOL Ignorance is bliss!

Oh yea almost forgot:

This year since I am doing the diet thing (have lost 32 pounds- yea me!!) I will bringing my own special k cereal for a bowl at breakfast. Also bringing some extra sugar packets for my husband because he is a sugar feine for his hot tea!!

I bring my own toiletries, but use everything from the resort. Except the hair dryer. I have very thick hair and would spend a good two hours using theirs! I prepackage toiletries in small containers for the 3-1-1 carry-on bag, then bring additional in my checked bag, if necessary for a longer visit. My BFF always takes her pillow when we travel, but tends to use the resort toiletries.

Debating on whether to ship some decorations (we'll be visiting in December), hot pot (we'll have an infant). Still considering it. Need to decide soon! *LOL*

I bring nothing except my Mickey Crocs and some clean underwear. Oh, and a change of clothes. And my toothbrush. And my deodorant (need lots of that in the Florida heat!) And maybe a camera. Oh yea, and my pjs...:goodvibes
Love the Mickey soap, shampoo and conditioner, lotion...Never had a problem with Mousekeeping and linens (don't even let myself go there, mentally). Have been known to bring my own GF International Coffee for my morning wakeup/celebration of the special moment in my life at WDW, but otherwise, I rely on the Mouse to keep me happy.
Curious about the Clorox wipes. Do those of you who use them wipe everything down every day? Or do you just request no Mousekeeping? 'Cause you know that the Mousekeepers touch a lot of other rooms besides yours...
And how do you manage yourselves in the parks? (Me, I like to stay oblivious to who/what might have touched what I am currently touching. I'd drive myself crazy otherwise!:crazy2: )

I got these ideas from fellow DISers: (most are from $1store)
Pop up hamper
toothbrush holder(hate them touching the counter)
Mickey nightlight
hotpot for making real coffee/oatmeal
coffee presspot
coffee/cream/sugar
paper plates and bowls
plastic ware
wipe off message board for door(value or mod)

Same here. We drove most all of the times visiting WDW. That and bringing many items as you stated allowed so many trips!! Annual passes, at times did, too. We would visit 11 months apart and also get great discounts on the hotels!

Hi there, we fly from the UK so a little limited in things we can bring, but we do bring a kettle! We have DVC now, so we get a mini kitchen thing, but NO kettle.. now this is no good for someone who likes to drink hot water...

I always bring my own soap, showergel, shampoo etc because I'm fussy and like to know what it's going to do to my skin and hair (both are a bit sensitive).

I bring my own ponchos in case it rains. And I also bring my own soap and shampoo...but only because I like to keep the resort toiletries as souvenirs!

I bring our so much extra stuff it isn't even funny. I bring the chlorox wipes myself and I am a "germ o phobe"! We brought so much stuff this last trip that we had to ship too and from. And buy an extra suitcase while on board DCL....land/sea! Hubby thinks I'm nuts...but loves me! ;)

I always bring a small table fan to put on the nightstand. I cannot sleep without the white noise from a fan!

And can I say I HATE squeaky, noisy ceiling fans! A few years ago at the Poly the ceiling fan made this weird clicking sound .... my DD said it sounded like a cat licking itself. :lmao:

I bring all my own toiletries and blow dryer. We stayed at the YC and Poly almost 2 weeks ago and they had the best shampoo, conditioner, lotion, soap and shower gel. It was called H2O and it was blueish and smelled amazing. The Mousekeeper from YC gave me a ton of it when I checked out. They also sell it in the gift shop at BC and YC and in different scents at the Poly.

I wish I brought my own sheets because they are super rough! The towels were Wamsutta and looked brand new.

Lets see, I bring everything but the kitchen sink I think. We bring Clorox wipes and the Clorox spray. Shampoo, Conditioner, soap (for sensitive skin), deodorant, razor, toothbrush and paste, hair dryer (thick hair for me and DDs, plus theirs is long). But we fly so, pillow and sheets are not an option, wish it was, I'd love to have mine.

What do we bring from home to make our vacation more like home?

The normal stuff, lotions, shampoo, soap, rain ponchos, night light, small sewing kit, bandaids, muscle rub, etc.

We bring our own coffee and filters. We bring the flavoring packets for water.
Wine and wine opener. A pair of champagne flutes we used on our wedding day in the car between the wedding and the reception.

We normally stay in a studio so we bring two real plates, two sets of silverware and two Mickey juice glasses.

This last trip was the first time I took a fitted sheet. I hate waking up in the morning and finding the flat sheet has come untucked and I am laying on the bare mattress. Like some said, some things are better left unknown.

Whew, Thank God for our Owner's Locker. Hard to believe we used to lug that stuff down to Disney World three times a year. Now all we do is schedule a trip, the locker is delivered to the resort. We unpack all the things we have stored in it. When it is time to leave, we pack it back up, leave it at Bell Services and it is picked up and stored for us till our next trip.

Takes the hassle out of packing. And I don't have to worry about forgetting anything.

Thanks Owner's Locker.

I usually use the clorox wipes upon checkin, I don't really see a need after that. It's our germs then!
I'm bringing cereal & coffee. Just need to get milk & creamer when we get there.
I also shipped rain poncho's, though we won't need them. :thumbsup2
This time next Sat. we should be boarding! :yay:
