What do we do when crowds are packed at Christmas??

JessetheCowgirl--here's a short trip summary

I didn't include the first few days of the trip because it's not real busy.

12/24 We arrived at MGM at 8am.
We had lunch at 50's Prime Time at 1115 and then left.
We shopped at the outlet malls and hung out at the hotel
the rest of the evening

12/25 We arrived at MK at 8am. We left at 1100. the longest wait of the morning was 10" at Country Bear Jamboree. We ate at Trail's End at Fort Wilderness. We spent almost an hour at the petting farm. We went back to the room, we swam and took a nap and then went to Epcot at 7pm.

12/26 We went shopping in the morning for those after Christmas sales;) We got to Epcot at 1030am and didn't leave until 5pm. It was a great afternoon. We saw alot of the entertainment in World Showcase. Don't miss American Vybe and Voices of Liberty--they are fabulous!! We went to MGM about 730pm and saw the Osbourne Lights. We rode a few things and then saw Fantasmic!

12/27 We arrived at AK about 720am. It was empty!! The kids rode Primeval Whirl 3 times without getting off. We left at 2pm and went to Downtown Disney to shop. We spent the evening at the resort.

12/28 We arrived at MGM at 715am. We rode TZToT 3 times, RnR 3 times, Great Movie Ride, Little Mermaid, Backlot Tour and Honey I Shrunk the kids playground and had lunch at Sci Fi at 1100. We left at 1230 and went to the outlets. We rested in the room after shopping and then ate at CSR and went to Epcot for a few hours.

As you can see arriving early is the key! You will have a wonderful time. We can't believe we won't be able to go this year:(

Dont Miss Activities
Epcot has always been a fave on xmas day for the reasons already discussed.
Many have already suggested the CP, but I would add to go ahead and reserve the dinner pkg with this. It includes dinner at EC, some merchandise discount and reserved seating at the show. It truly is worth the extra $$ to not have to get there early and wait in a long line especially in cooler weather.

Weather varies from year to year and day to day. The last few years the weather started out beautiful with temps in the 70s but then it would rain one day and the temps would drop sometimes into the 30s. So pack for both types.

Osbourne Lights at the studios are great. You might want to have dinner at Mama Melrose or Brown Derby then stroll thru the lights afterward. We did this on xmas eve one year and it was wonderful.

Expect crowds and take it in stride. Unfortunately many guest dont and many a cm will tell you that guest on xmas day tend to not share the "Good Will towards all men" philosophy. Patience will be greatly appreciated. Go early to the parks and leave after lunch for some R&R at the hotel.

Call before you arrive, as far in advance as possible and make PSs for xmas eve & day, as well as NYE & day as restaurants fill quickly in advance and if you wait your choices will be extremely limited.

One of our new traditions is to visit MK during Dec. Everyday at 5pm they lower the flag in Town Sq it is then presented to a service person or veteran who assist in the ceromony. It is very moving. Right afterwards they have a cute tree lighting show & ceromony so dont miss that.

I know you will have a great time, Xmas at WDW is especially magical.
