what do u get with mk shoot?

About the cost, you lucky UK brides. My planner also said after 3 years the price would go to $500.00.

I know you can't wear your bridal attire into the parks but what about if the bride were to wear a pretty white sundress and the goom some nice pants and a shirt - kind of like pjstevens is going to wear for her VR on the Disney Wonder - only a little shorter. Make reservations for an early breakfast before the park opens and get a photopass photographer to snap you picture in front of the castle.

Linda
Yeah thats a good idea

Very interesting. Do you know why there is such a difference?

I didn't know this, but it seems hiwaygal has hit the nail on the head!

wow meryll83 really?

that is very exciting news... will def be having a disney photographer now

i havent been told we get the cd, i think you only get the cd if you are a escape bride with the package with the wedding not the mk shoot

I specifically asked in relation to the MK shoot, and was told actually the CD comes with all photography done by Disney photographers.

Summer had mentioned getting a free CD for her MK shoot, so I emailed to see if this package was still on offer to UK brides.

(Maybe you should call and make sure they have it sorted for you Sarah?)

Good news! :rotfl:

Hey cinderbear thats a great idea. I'll have to check it out with my planner. She is checking now if any of the dates I gave her are available for the MK shoot.

Linda

Incidentally, if you are a UK bride, you get the CD with all images and copyright included in the basic package.

This applies for MK shoots and any Disney photography done - just got an email from Disney confirming this, as it was something Summer mentioned so I queried it with them....

I was told this is only the case if you are an escape bride, I have asked many people at disney this question.

Ah. well I am an Escape bride now, so they wouldn't have thought to mention the Wishes criteria to me.

Apologies if I have confused or mislead anyone - it seems that CD's are only included for UK Escape brides.

I'm so excited!!!! I got mentioned in someone elses post :goodvibes

They told me that I get an hour shoot, proof book, online proof, 12 4x6 in an album and the rest of pictures 4x6 in a box...

but I liked your dress and your husband's shirt. We are still deciding if we want to do the MK shoot. The pictures are great but I want to make sure we get a good photographer (and not have the problems that lurkyloo is having).

Linda

Can I wear my wedding dress in a Disney theme park?

Not usually. You can wear wedding attire in a theme park only under these conditions:

1. During your actual wedding or reception that is held in a theme park through Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings. Theme park weddings occur outside of normal operating hours.

2. During a private Illuminations Dessert Party at Epcot, held in conjunction with your Intimate or Custom wedding at Walt Disney World (but you have to be escorted through a back gate).

3. By purchasing a special photography package at Walt Disney World, through Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings. With this package you are taken into a theme park before it opens to the public and a Disney photographer does a photo session with the bride and groom in wedding attire. This package is only available in conjunction with an Intimate or Custom wedding.

Basically Disney won't allow adults to wear any type of "costume" (including wedding attire) into the theme parks during regular park hours. The concern is that it might confuse other guests into thinking you're part of the entertainment!

You CAN wear wedding attire at the Disney resort hotels on the day of an official Disney's Fairy Tale Wedding, however!

But could you go dressed as a bride to MNSSHP? That may be Carrie's loophole for new pictures. :)

Linda,

No problem at all. I was just excited to see 'me'! I would have loved to have a MK shoot, but don't think that will happen (maybe when DD gets married)

I showed DF some samples of the MK shoot this past weekend and he was not very impressed. As the shoot is so early in the morning alot of the shots were very dark and you could hardly see the castle. As it was getting lighter out the pictures were much better but we are really not sure. My planner is checking availability for the days after the wedding that we will be in Disney. If we are deciding between the MK shoot and having Mickey and Minnie at our wedding I think we would opt for Mickey and Minnie. We might just try wearing some nice cloths to the park one morning and getting early morning breakfast reservations and try to get some shots of the castle.

Linda

Yes, that was one of my objections - the darkness in the shots. We scheduled our shoot for the later time slot, but it still didn't seem to get light til the last 15 minutes or so. I think an ideal shoot would be one that was only dark for the first few pictures and then light for all the rest.

Disney Photographic keeps a timetable of sunrise times, so when you call they can look it up for you. :thumbsup2

Good idea about sunrise. Our planner told us they have 5:30 available the Thursday after and 6:00 available the Friday after our wedding. Our wedding is November 10th. I'll have to check what time sunrise is. I would rather the 6:00. I also need to contact Carolyn Allens about how long we can keep DF tux. Our wedding is on Monday and I don't know if we can keep it till Friday and I don't want to pay another rental fee.

carrie, did you get your mk shoot fiasco sorted???

They said they were editing them Friday, and on Sunday we got a note about delivering the proofs, so we'll see how they did when I get those. Thanks for asking! :goodvibes

I got really excited when I found out about the MK shoot opprotunity! :cool1:

Question:
1) The castle and carousel locations are included but could we get our pics made in front of the Haunted Mansion? That is our favorite ride!
2) I know this is a dumb question but do you get to go up and see spots inside the castle that you wouldn't normally get too?
3) Someone mentioned that you can upgrade your package. Any idea what packages you can choose from and what they include?

Thanks in advance!
Hoping to be a Disney bride in '09!

Hi!

You can ask to have the Haunted Mansion instead of the Carousel - there's usually not enough time to do both. Usually the pictures are taken from kinda far away - you don't get very close....

Unfortunately, they do not let you poke around in off-limits areas of the castle. You do get to go up a short flight of steps at the back which is behind a gate - that part was cool!

The only difference between the two packages is the size of the prints you get in the folio - 4x6s for the $1,000 package and 8x10s for the $1,200 package.

i'm not doing a MK shoot but prob will be having a disney photographer for my wedding photos.

Does anyone know if UK brides get the copyright to these photos like they would with MK shoot, regardless of what package they are doing or not?

Many Thanks

Nicola

UK Escape brides do get the CD with all images on included, Wishes brides don't, you'd have to pay extra.
I checked and this applies to all Disney photography :thumbsup2
