What do Resorts do for NYE?

We are going to WDW for NYE this year. We do not arrive until 6:00 PM, so doubt we will be able to get inside a park... Does anyone know if any hotels have NYE celabration going on? We made dinner reservation at Ohana's and Whispering canyon (Need to cancel one) thinking we could watch the fireworks from the beach at Poly.. But now I read they are having a free DJ on the green at the Broardwalk (where we are staying) and also something at Alantic Dancehall $30 a person.. Also I read about a balloon drop at the Grand Floridian. Has anyone been to either of these things? Any info would be greatly appreciated...

that's the exact same thing that we are doing. got a ps for ohana's then want to walk down to the beach. Figure we'll stop off at the boardwalk afterwards
